Motorists expect a cyclist to be in the gutter and can't adapt to anything else. I cycle bout 120 miles a week on my commutes and the incidents are quite rare considering the distance and time involved.

As said in the thread. your line needs to be much stronger, you are cycling too close to parked cars and you move slightly towards the pavement when the gap comes. This just invites idiots like this to overtake.
