  • This movie is spot on if you know NOTHING about knives :P

At least it was entertaining. =\.. somewhat.

  • lol Hogwash

  • i could spend all day just going through the videos in the suggested bar!

  • over priced!!!!!

  • 6:00 Hollywood killed a tree. Hypocrites.

  • i saw this movie and rambo didnt cross my mind once although i think rambo is a better movie still this movie kicked much ass

  • great movie, fight scenes are gratuitus but thats ok. movie seemed fine to me. better than rambo

  • Oh Great Nutn, at 10:35 I'm drinking a coke and you said "He doesnt mind taking a knife and choppin' up dudes!!" hahahahaha Spit my Coke out'ma NOSE!!! LOL

  • i think it has got skinning potential

  • It is a movie. It is for fun. It isn't 100% realistic. It has cool knives. It has exciting fight scenes. It is not meant to be overanalized. Relax and enjoy one of the few movies with a strong emphasis on knives and their uses.

  • Just a note. The Philipinos train their swat to go it with blades. And they do some bad azz work. Close un a knife is more functional. Never jams, never runs out of ammo and soft body armor is useless. I've been studying this stuff for about 20 years. If you are well trained the knife is a very good tool. Primary or as a backup.

  • ay?? im pretty sure the guys in the movie are hunters and they dont even come after aron, he comes after them because he doesnt like the fact that they hunt with such high tech equipment for gaming purposes instead of just simple survival.

  • @1gyb Tottaly right.

  • To answer your question about the flint knife, its just another handy thing to teach SF guys. When even the most high tech equipment with soldiers get is unavailable to them even to their weapons they need to learn how to fashion a crude but effective weapons to allow them to continue the fight or to help them survive.

  • Because it is a rambo, the fugitive rip-off make it a bad movie...I just loved the movie....and the blade btw.

  • Are you reviewing the Knife, or the Movie? Sure sounds like the majority of the talking is about the movie. The Knife is not the PERFECT knife...it is however pretty good at doing a few different things. No Knife can do it all......and One might carry three knives in a perfect world...but for a heavy duty all porpose knife, I like it. The only concern I ever had was sharpening.....Which I found to not be hard at all.

  • i have a couple wsk's. 4 in fact. 2 from tops. 1 from red scorpion six. 1 real beck tracker(grind is a little different then the movie knife) . they aren't a tool you just pick up and instantly master. it takes time and learn to craft it. i have to admit, i like my busse hell razor or the mistress to hack up a tree. i call them my idiot sticks(anyone can use one). but the wsk is a multifunction tool. they do what they do in the movie. its not hype. except the hole in the tree.

  • ok,well i don't think tom brown tracker is the answer to all knives either,(i've never held one tho it might be a good one) i think the best knife is the one you have in your hand at the time.but all movies are just that, fakers making way to much money for lying.that's why i spend some of my time making knives which i designed, based on my experience in the woods and the military. i am not intending to disclaim u,don't take offense.i watch lots of your vid's.sometimes i agree with u, as in now.

  • I'm not aware of the hype...,I am concerned how well the knife functions for bushcraft chores . And is it a USA or Canada product . I just can't keep sending out money to china . Size of knife looks right.

  • he iz half right

  • i love the hunted, its freakin awesome

  • To be fair...I agree the knife is overhyped, however ..if you look at the knife in the movie, and the one in production, they are diametrically different. Take a look at the beautiful grip handle and shape of the blade of the one in the movie. In the movie LT says " A fillet edge on one side and a serrated edge on the other" Now...examine the shape and figure out why. The groove edge is to lay it flat and fillet fish you catch, the curve is for cutting, back for sawing. A TRACKER knife. In theory.

  • Dude....I love your reviews, but .....you really disappointed me in this video. I have watched most of your videos and have used them as a deciding factor in many of my purchases. You are much better at reviewing products than you are with movies. Movies are make believe. They dumb things down for the simple-minded movie watcher. The comments that you make should be made toward your wife in your living room. I bore my wife to death, daily, with fact vs fiction movie nonsense. Just my opinion!

  • The knife work in this movie is actually Sayoc Kali. This is a proven effective knife fighting method in current conflict combat. Real world tests against simunitions prove the knife is actually faster and more effective than the gun within striking distance. knife wounds are more fatal than gun shot wounds. Your assessment of the knife work in this movie is opinion. I have trained in Sayoc and used it in real life. No hogwash about it. This knife is garbage but not because of this movie.

  • @2HEDZ This is completely untrue. The Tom Brown tracker knife is worthless. This is completely obvious just by looking at the blade in a picture. I have actually held this knife. It's actually more worthless than the picture shows. The Sayoc Tactical Group who actually did the knife work in the Hunted would agree with Nutnfancy. This knife is not a fighting knife, it's even worse at survival. Tom Brown actually figured this out and made smaller versions. The knife is heavy, useless, and hype.

  • "I liked it better when the movie was called Rambo"

    ^ You mean First Blood?

  • @keith90102 Look at the specs for the knife, a 6 1/3 inch bladed, 28 ounce knife, that costs like 230-280 dollars, and tell me why exactly are you trying to defend it? For a little bit more weight and near the same price or less price as a Tom Brown Tracker you could carry a Buck Hoodlum, a Sawvivor, and a 7 inch bladed Ka-bar. The Tom Brown Tracker is over-hyped, overpriced, overweight, undersized and limited in versatility.

  • some funny shit man.....yeah that was a pretty crap movie full of bullshit and lol "clowns".....one thing that really bugs me though is - who said that knife looks good? looks like a piece of shit dildo flattened into a sort of blade shaped ass plug

  • Err...I just watched a video about how an action movie is ridiculous. Talk about off topic...the entire genre is dependent upon suspending disbelief in the face of ridiculous events! Anyway, I look forward to actual legitimate criticisms of the knife in part 2. By the way, I'm not sure how much input any "technical adviser" would have been allowed to have in the making of a movie like this...my guess would be that maybe Brown was brought in for the knife training scenes once they used his knife.

  • This is your best review man!

  • Your review made me LMAO. Awesome

  • Dude you have killed this movie for me lol,I thought it was awesome on an entertainment level .

  • they weren't government assassins they were actually hunting elk in washington state.......

  • I got one of these knives in a trade on my second tour to Iraq. The knife was bad as a knife and bad as a chopper. The blade angle is all wrong for chopping - the curve causes most of the energy to slide off the knife when you chop - a straight blade or even better: a khukuri would be better. The draw knife function is bad because the "handle" on one side is your saw. I ended up selling it and made a profit on it since the knife I traded to get it was a lot less expensive. Get a RAT or a khukuri

  • If I can get the knife for around $200.00 do you think it would be worth it? Would it make a great tactical/survival knife? I really do like the look of the knife, wasn't even aware that it was in the movie till I started researching it.

  • @somedirtyangel Buy the MTech version, off of EBay, for less than $30, if you want to play around with it. That's what I did, and found that, in the woods, $30 is about what it's worth. It's not a very good chopper, not a very good drawknife, not even a very good dirt digging spade, and the "saw" on the back didn't work as well as my Swiss Army knife saw. I'll stick with my 12" Collins machete and Cold Steel 3" Voyager pocket knife, thanks!

  • what's the point for this video?? We already know that you hate the movie hunted.

  • "n what does he forge? A tracker knife!"

    :)

  • i got this review recomended. how can you review a knife you don't have?

  • 5:25 is the funniest part of the movie.

  • @jeffersontool I'm with you there bro.. hahahah

  • So I really just wanted to point out that nutn kept calling the hunters in the beginning of the movie operatives. In the movie the guys were actually hunters but because of Benicio Del Toro's character's PTSD he thinks they are operatives coming to kill him. I agree the movie is completely ridiculous, but I think it is up to the owner of a knife to be able to differentiate between the actual capabilities of his knife as opposed to what a movie says they are.

  • well the best blade for survival is machete. Elongated narrow machete is a plus too(for head hunting). Why i say that? I'm from the borneo island and I'm from one of the headhunting tribe. I love heavy blade, not much energy needed to wield it, but needs a lot of practice to control it.

  • the blade shape looks stupid WOW his knife in the middle of the forest making the knife in 1 min they would have billions of them in 10 seconds with machines

  • Every on is entitled to there opinion so here is mine. Of course the movie is far fetched and fake, that's what gives it entertainment value. I nothing but respect for Nutn and I love his vids, but I think he took the movie just a little to seriously. There are millions of films out there. Some are entertaining and some are not. I give this youtube video, 2 thumbs down.

  • What does the movie have to do with the knife?

    Come on man

  • Dude ya ain't got any idea wut ur talkin bout. Tom brown is one of the best survival teachers in the world n tbt is a great knife fur survival n fur combat. I have been trained by a USMCFR n yes w use other knives as well but nothin can compare to the weight speed accuracy of the tbt. I get what ya r sayin unless ya r highly trained the tbt is pointless to have but if ya r trained then it alone is the perfect weapon, one of my mottos is KNIVES ARE DEADLIER THEN GUNS and its the truth

  • Nutnfancy, this is the first time you disappoint me... It's a MOVIE, not a documentary! Everything you pointed out was done on purpose and the fact that you watched it, are now talking about it, and in effect causing people who haven't seen it to become curious and go watch it for themselves, means that the producers, directors, actors... all did their job!

  • all movies exaggerate everything, get over it

  • lol this video made me almost from laughter because nutn is ripn this movie a new 1 lololololol

  • The movie used a "Tracker" knife made by Dave Beck. The ones you can buy now are made by Tops and inferior. Different metal, grinds, weight, thickness..... First versions were made by guys named Ed and Bear. Long history of this knife design and making.

  • that hole is a treegina

  • Hahaha!Tear Hollywood a new a-hole. This is why I can hardly watch movies these days....

  • First I think it was a GREAT movie... And frankly it was just that... A movie... In the right hands any knife can be a deadly weapon... And for what it's worth who care's if it's a Rambo rippoff... if we judged movies like that... All the movies out there would be crap... Okay, so here it is... Anyone who can make money off a knife like he has.... I give Kudos to because it's made him Money... And that bothers a lot of people...More power to him if he can do that, It's America...

  • @ivansnyder thank you i feel the same way about all of this! i dont know why this guy feels the need to do a video about this. in my book it was a waste of time. an it is 14:59 of my life i will never get back.

  • Ive never held or used the knife either so how can somebody review something and give it a good or bad review based on watching a movie

  • Of course this film is obsurd....... The knife bits were good tho....

  • Nutn I'm watching the hunted right now. I think those two hunters in the beginning were poachers. But anyway it's back on. Thought I'd give my two cents.

    Cool looking knife btw.

  • yeah the word (review) isnt in the title ....but what is he doing based on pictures and a movie? a review of a knife with no hands on ...if you were put in a survival situation with the TBT it would and could do everything 100% that tops says it can do it's a extremely high quality of knife which is (my opinion) i own it...it's my right to judge it...and it's called a (survival knife) because surviIving isnt suppose to be easy if it were survival knives would be called (easy living knives) .

  • Dont diss flint knifes. Their blade is about 7 times sharper than surgical scalpels.

  • I've loved all of Nutnfancy's vids, but I'm afraid he missed it on this one.

Perhaps completely. Aside from the design of the Tracker, hole in the tree, etc., Nutn has for the first time shown the boundaries of his (respectable) understanding.

  • The part where he forges the knife is pretty stupid, they should have had him make it early on and hide it or something.

The reason I like the movie is because still to this day nobody really knows if they were just hunters or really agents trying to kill Del Toro. They probably put the part about him butchering them in the movie as a lie to LT to make him believe Del Toro was going nuts.

Also, it reminds me of Star Wars. Master vs. student, fighting next to lava, or water in this case.

  • Tom brown should send some of his best teachers to cities to train homeless children in the forest ways for his green army.

  • Really great review thank-you

  • very intelligent review thanks. That knife reminds me of a military tool that is not metal but some sort of carbonate. You can see it being used in the documentary 'crazy rulers of the world" part 1 (the men who stare at goats) yet it does look like a versitile tool unlike this cumbersome and heavy thing.

  • Few comments:

    1) the Scene with the hunters was not about federal agents hunting him down. It was about Arron Snapping and killing some actual hunters because he thinks the hunters are "FBI Agents"

    2) Comparing the knife to what it does in a movie is just plain silly. Everything in a movie is overblown and exaggerated.

    3) You can't review a knife without actually using it. I had that knife and it's good for chopping & heavy work but doesn't hold an edge and it's bad for carving.

  • I hope he can review some of the rambo series soon..... I want acombat bowie I have ontarios 2 larger including the raider....which is fucking amazing.,,loved your review

  • this guy that made this movie because the guys in the hunting camo and hunting rifles meant that they are hunters not people sent to take out the guy they wer just hunters aron was a trained killer gone wrong so he just kills hunters for sport

  • I got to ask..... do you think the rambo knives from united cutlery are junk ?I mean I know they are collectors knives...but in any form are they functional ?

  • @gruntspy44 Nutn says that he doesn't know anything about them yet, sorry. --- Veri

  • @gruntspy44

The Rambo knives are HIGHLY EFFECTIVE and FUNCTIONAL!!!

Take it from one who knows!!!

  • @casanski777 I hope you're kidding......those knives are garbage, and only for decoration

  • @gruntspy44 I believe when Nutn gets around to it he will tell you you don't want any hollow handle knife for survival you want a knife that is a full tang construction. When your lost in the wilderness it's not Hollywood it's for real.

  • @gruntspy44 yeah dude those are total crap.

NEVER buy anything with a hollow handle like that.

the larger bowie knives based on the knives from the sequals may or may not be good,

but anything based on the knife from the first movie (first blood) with a hollow handle like that

is just crap, they all break at the handle.

if u want a good knife look for the opposite: a 'full tang' knife.

they have the blade steel run all the way down the handle for strength.

  • @gruntspy44 no they are not i bought mine last summer it sucks it broke in half while i was chopping a sappling down....................it SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @gruntspy44 I have the bowie and the machete, and for the price they are amazing but you might want to touch the blade up and lock the bolt on the back of the handle down if your gonna make it your designated boar sticker. I would stay away from bone and wood, but it's more than adequate for flesh. If you dont want to curse the clouds when a scuff or a chip happens, get a cheap gut hook and a cheap machete from wallmart and a roll of black electical tape for when the handles fall off. :)

  • It's a movie! I really didn't even understand it though. Movie has good parts story sucks!

    Love Nutn!

This reminds me of when my buddy's and I watch a movie!

    That's great!

  • ...the Hell? Ok, so you'd like the knife a little better if it wasn't in any film, and if it didn't cost as much, clearly. Man, forget Hollywood, the frickin' knife WORKS in the field, and in any real survival situation, and looking at things a bit more down to earth here, that is what counts. I don't believe I'm going to be thinking of Tommy Lee Jones or Hollywood when the *Apocalypse* happens.

  • Thank you for being honest about not actually using the Tracker Knife before critiquing it. By the way, the two hunters, as I saw it were hunting elk and were actually going to shoot an elk until they got interrupted . What does this have to do with the Tracker Knife...nothing. This might explain why they were using hunting rifles.

  • Ok dude you look into the movie way too much yes some of the stuff is over done and exaggerated but .... IT A MOVIE!!!! also if the guy is a psychotic killer which he clearly is he wouldn't prepare ahead and he might prefer a knife to kill so as to make it to fulfill a fantasy or to relive the original event which sparked the psychosis. And every1 knows you can't forge a knife in that short of a time it's a movie they hav artistic license. And with the flint knife lt was based if Tom Brown Tom

  • Taking Arnis, and Hapkido with Knife techniques... I can say that I know a little bit when I state that the techniques shown are practical, because in a situation- the student wont use ALL strikes, but muscle memory gets him to the points he needs to hit.

  • Its so amazing how different people see things, i watched the whole movie and the knife never even stood out to me...the brutality and intensity of the knife fights did tho...it wasn't all smooth parries and blocks, it was a real struggle...it definitely wasn't one sided with the hero owning the villian, the fights were even.....i think the average action fan or FMA fan would like this movie...

  • Tommy Lee Jones only needs 2.5inches Nutn.

    lol

  • actually aaron didnt throw the tracker knife into the tree he made two knives and his backup one is the one he throws

  • oh, the guy from cliffhanger, also from CSI Miami, wich ironically has the redhead (horashio SP?) that was the rookie cop in RAMBO, he was the one who was stabbed in the buttcheek or lower thigh.

  • my initial impression of the knife, before i learned about survival, was it was the knife to get. this movie did inspire me to learn more. i will say that the tracker could make a pretty good utility knife, but not survival knife. the blade it too far upswept and short to be an effecient chopper, now if you had say i hawk or somethin, sure i could see that combo workin. but as for the fanboys/girls saying this is the only knife you need, NO!! i used to be a fanboy, not anymore. PS GREAT VIDS.

  • @kaldicuct This is my preferred bushcraft knife. The saw is great for notching traps and fire sets, and I like the versatility. All just my opinion though. It's great for me,"but your mileage may vary"

  • This knife costs £280 here in the UK (about $420 US?) and I often wondered if it was as good as promised. On this showing I'm glad I saved my cash! Instead, I have a BEAUTIFUL hand made 14" 77 layer Damascus kukri forged by a Nepalese Kami (bladesmith) which does everything I need and cost me £180 including shipping from Nepal, Damascus chakmak and karda accessory knives and a gorgeous silver mounted sheath. It pays to check out the hype first! Thanks for the straight talk Nutnfancy!

  • I think this is less about the knife, and more about the fact that they ripped off Rambo.

  • Wow, the fanboys really get bent out of shape about this. Nutn's reviewed dozens of knives but somehow if he doesn't put his hands on this one magical blade, he's got no right to review it? You can tell it's junk just looking at it cuz its attributes are similar to other junk knives. If you saw a cell phone with a quarter-inch screen would you need to fondle it for a week to tell that it's not going to work? If you love this Hollywood knife then fine, but don't fault Nutn for his opinion.

  • Stallone has his survival bowie. So Del Toro has to use another knife.

And it sucked. Mickey Rourke also sported a sweet knife in "The Expendables" (Cold Steel Large Espada)

I also thought it was stupid that he forged a knife like that while being chased.

And I also thought the forging of a knife

  • nutnfancy, i love you and awe, but you keep some non-sense out of the video

  • its the RSK Predator knife im sure you heard it a billion times and it was sayoc kali school that taught the fighting stuff

  • only rambo can kill guys with guns with a knife

  • @nutnfancy u should run for pesident:)

  • surprised you edited out my comment. I agreed with you and my points were solid.

    whatever

  • @sunnyacres23 Not edited out, I am just really behind on all comments. Holidays. -- Veri

  • @sunnyacres23 dude you seriously need some help bashing against the movie when everyone knows that it is just for publicity, who cares if the knife is not suppose to create a giant hole in tree, it hollywood you A Hole, sigh so silly you are

  • I loved this movie. One of the best knife movies I have ever seen. I specially like the way they used FMA to make the movie appealing to guys that like knife fighting. I don't think Rambo used FMA. Totally different styles.

  • im sorry but that hole looks like a vagina T_T

  • that knife, that movie & Tom Brown are BS. only the acting was good.

in dvd extras interview Tom Brown says, "this knife is not just a knife but a machine" oooh my. 1st, this knife is a rip off of the now defunct redscorpion, 2nd it's a joke thats neither a hatchet or a knife.

3rd Tom Brown is a shameless promoter of bullshit, many have lost a lot of respect for him. Much of the utter crap in that movie was his idea.

Tommy Lee's moccasin clad character was so ridiculous it was nausiating.

  • Nutn ,Nice movie critique. TNPer's requested this?

It was an entertaining movie but any movie can be taken aprt by anyone who has skills in the movie subject. I dont like the knife though

  • i think its a red scorpion six wsk, not a tom brown tracker

  • Common sense applies, you can just look at this knife and tell it sucks compared to other cheaper knives. I mean seriously just looking at this knife you can tell how inefficient it is.

  • The knife in the movie was a copy of the RedScorpionSix PREDATOR WSK-WILDERNESS SURVIVAL KNIFE. I thought the movie was stupid.

  • Oh and was that tactical blaze orange the spec guys were in with their night vision scopes and bolt action rifles??? LMAO

  • It always amazes me all these people getting bent over a statement. If you don't like Nutn's vid dont watch. For all you arm chair hall monitor's. Please show me your knife throwing skills with this blade....still waiting..... Go join the military, go to combat, train in real life scenarios.. I have. I still serve. I don't see much purpose of this knife. It looks cool in some respects but very unbalanced. A person can kill with a "shank" in prison also but I don't want one.

  • all caught up. I looked the knife from the movie up on the internet and its is really suppose to be more like the "Dave Beck WSK" like the other guy said. sorry,

  • Wow you really dont know what you are talking about. HUH? Well I am not a knife guy at all unless its for chicken breast. But movies. I know and love movies. This was a great movies with great actors, that add debt and pain to that PTSD soldier killing everybody. 4 out of 5 easy. Now how can you review a knife off a movie. Its a movie you know not one cut or blade in there is real right. That guy in the begging didn't really die. But I guess that speaks to how good the movie is because it got.

  • Ahahahah i think stuff like that all the time. Imagine if u were that extra. Sigh lol. When i saw the poster i thought i hadn't seen that movie, then u explained it and i realized i had. Very forgettable movie. HATE HATE HATE lol hate on this movie nutn

  • and guess what

Tom Brown hates paramount pictures because they totally fucked with his message - it wasn't "Rambo", it never was.

  • Dude, I find most of you videos at least entertaining. Not this one, it just seemed petty. I think you're better than this.

  • I agree with you about the knife and hollywood but the martial arts are real. This is the Sayoc Kali system. It seems like over kill but each strike is a vital target. The purpose of the drills is to learn the targeting and angles, not so much a sequence of attacks to be used in a knife fight. That said, they flow well and if one target isn't enough to stop an attacker, moving to the next target(s) in the line may be. Anyway, just wanted to throw that out there. :)

  • Put Tom Brown in the same room as nutn'. Tom with his tracker and nutn' with his 4oz. edc with his jimping...My money is on the guy with the 1 lb. of 1095.

  • meh... I've always considered the TBT gadgety and mall-ninja tacticool rather than practical. I've owned and used knives ranging in price from $10 to $600+ by Randall, Busse, Cold Steel and no name cheapies. For real world, hard use applications, I'll stick with my bargain-bin British MOD 4 or USMC Ka-Bar. Expensive knives have never shown me any great advantage in actual use over either.

    Thanks for the review!

  • You watch tooooo much T.V. Don't believe everything you see on T.V. ಠ_ಠ

  • @InazumaWaya9 He never watches TV..it just doesn't exist for him -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy ...No I was talking about you actually. It is pretty two-faced to debunk a knife because a movie was promoting it. The hole in the tree, him making the knife in 60 seconds, etc. = Movie stuff = obviously fake = who gives a shit.; I mean, it's a movie, they are SUPPOSE to do that for the flair of the movie which creates the profit because the movie is appealing. That's how the movie business works, ya know.

  • @InazumaWaya9 Well then you don't understand the whole gist of his video. Somewhere you got lost. And I'm his sister, Veri..not Nutn. What is two-faced about it? He's stating his opinion....he thinks the knife AND the movie are junk. The movie AND the knife are so over the top they lose appeal...its an opinion..don't get all bent outta shape over it. -- Veri

  • @InazumaWaya9 I give a shit because it makes the movie suck like when the main hero is shooting and puts off 300 rounds with out ever reloading(Not from this movie). When you see the hero fly it is obviously not real but this movie acts like the knife is able to do stuff it cant.It cheapens the movie and makes it less watchable when it is based on something that could acctually happen and then puts in things that couldn't happen. I expect better and so should you.

  • @nutnfancy i am now 2 months with out tv,. and i love it,. so much garbage ect. on tv

  • Something tells me " NUT the FANCY " didn't get asked by Tom to review his knife . Wasn't sent one , got mad , and decided to do a review on a PICTURE of a knife . .Thats ok Nut . Tell the butler to tell mom , you're not coming downstairs to eat your jellow . cuzz Tom Brown made you mad !

  • @scunknuckles Something tells me that you are a guy with a vivid imagination. Stick to things you know, instead of fantasy. -- Nutn's sister

  • @scunknuckles what are you talking about?

  • tom brown made the knife years before the movie and discontinued it the movie producers then asked him to make it again and the movie is a vartiation of somthing that happend in toms life o yea and you cant slander a object

  • first of all this movie was based on real events that tom brown went through in his life

  • knifes make no noise

  • this movie is about tom brown's job as a tracker for the FBI

  • firstblood was better and always will be.

  • My blades definitely imbue invincible like qualities... ;)

  • dude, give it a rest. you havnt used it. also if you actually research why tom brown shaped his knife it isnt primarily for the type of stuff you use ur knives for. also, ITS A MOVIE!!! oh my gosh, i bet tom brown had actually very little input anyway. producers and editors do what ever they want. and if you really cant just get over a little embelishing, and hokiness, give up movies. and it WAS a good movie.

  • first of all the knife used in the movies is Dave Becks WSK....second i would bet money that U acctually never had original in Ur possesion so U cant kow what U can and cant do with it

  • I do think the knife fight training was overkill, they sliced any artery they found

  • You say you have never owned or used this knife. How the hell is this a review?!?! I don't care how many knives you've used. If you haven't used the product you are "reviewing" this is called "slander". google it. There are laws against slander here in the US. I own a tracker. I've spent years in the boy scouts as a scout and later, as an adult leader. I've spent literally YEARS, nearly 3 years total time in tents camping. It's a great knife worth every penny. But you wouldn't know that.

  • @nearadyn You're way confused about "slander" but this is a funny comment, so let 'er rip. -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy hahaha! Yup.

  • @nearadyn

Please read the title again, and again, if necessary. The word "review" is NOT used in the title of this clip: Anatomy of Hype: "Tom Brown Tracker knife Part 1". BTW I agree that there are laws against slander, go ahead and read those again and again if necessary. Maybe your confusion will diminish, ya think?

  • @nearadyn It's really not an issue unless Nutnfancy didn't tell us he hadn't used the blade. He told us that he hasn't so it's your opinion of whether you trust his experience or not.

  • 1st of all the 2 men in the beginning of the movie weren't federal agents. They were hunters, hence the camo & orange vests & they were hunting a buck as it was also shown. 2nd flint rock is what our ancestors used to survive in the wilderness. Everything from arrowheads, spearheads, & yes knives were made of it. The native Americans didn't have machine guns when the pilgrims came knocking on there door. It was just an example of making a weapon w/ what materials you have when you have nothing

  • Man, I totally agree! And I'm happy I finally managed to find someone who, just like me, thinks that knife is over-hyped and over-priced. You can use it in the woods, sure, being so heavy you can easily cut through wood and stuff, but you can do it the same way with a much lighter tool. And please guys don't call that knife a "combat knife", it's heavy, bulky, slow: no way!

(The movie just sucks, it made me laugh till I cried. And they didn't mean it.)

  • rambo sucked compared to this

  • @niggitybrosky why because it was made before 1990, you need to expand your taste in movies.

Fun Fact - Sylvester Stallone sold his dog to help fund the making of Rambo First Blood, he later bought him back for 10,000 dollars.

  • I love that this move can be interpreted in several ways. In Aarons letter he mentions some of the sweepers that LT trained being robots. Did he mean they were dehumanized killers, or actual robots like terminators? If he were totally wacko he may have meant actual robots, yet its totally open to interpretation. hehehe...

In any case this move is pretty awesome. Totally entertaining and a joy to watch....lets not take ourselves too seriously!

  • the hunted was an awesome movie. and the tom brown tracker knife is an awesome knife. get the knife before you buy it

  • Agree.

Used one, and it did not preform well

Look forward to seeing more hiking / camping videos in the future

  • Call a ball a ball and a strike a strike its simple, its Hollywood kids, its a movie meant to be entertaining not a guide or model for creating or using steel

  • this movie straight up fucking sucked shit.

  • just stick to guns you do great videos, but you know nothing about knife combat

  • its a beck knife in the movie, not a tracker

  • I love your reviews nutnfancy and you are right about pretty much everything in this one. The only thing are the two hunters. They were actually businessmen. Otherwise you said it all.

  • CAN'T REVIEW WHAT YOU HAVEN'T HANDLED

  • rofl love the analysis of that crap movie

  • the knife was designed by tom brown and 6 ex special forces experts. it was built to be a survival knife and tactical knife. i would know i have one. it works.

  • you cant see air

  • HAHA, genious comparison with Rambo :)

  • you cant do a review on a knife when you never even used it. And it is made by americas greatest outdoorsmen tom brown jr.

  • Have you met Tom Brown? Do you honestly think the intent was to promote a blade could do all this (any blade). It's a movie, how often are Hollywood movie's accurate? Just like most sword fights in movies never happened because it would pit and ruin the blades back then. I've used and thrown this knife and it is truly awesome! From a survival and outdoorsman perspective (it's true intent) you couldn't ask for more

  • I love your reviews and your right, Hollywood always exaggerates everything. That's why people watch. Oh and btw, guns are awesome! 1/5 *

  • This movie is at least 4 to 5 out of 5 stars. It goes past Rambo highlighting the fact that hese a rogue agent gone astray. What we have here is a movie buff thinking he can de-sequence the flick. Lets review the facts about this clown... He's no soldier, cuz if he was, he would know how to use a blade. 2, this clown can apparently make a gun rather than a knife and kill his opponents from a fire. Your a joke. Get some military training then maybe you can be a real critic...

  • @MrNazzmaster A 4 out of 5? Lemme guess..you loooved Howard the Duck too. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • @nutnfancy HEY! I liked Howard the duck!

  • @davidreefer I knew there was somebody that did. ;) -- Veri

  • @MrNazzmaster You must be joking. This movie was not a 4 or 5 out of 5. Knife seems stupid beyond belief, and weighs about 2 ounces less than my San Mai III Trail Master. I think nutnfancy knows what he's talking about, and I'm pretty sure he would also take a trail master over this for an outdoor knife hands down. He does a damn good job with his reviews, and I'm pretty sure he has military training lol.

  • @MrNazzmaster

    Are you nuts?!?!

Nutn has been in the US Army, and still does Army stuff too.

He's also an LEO so... he has military and police experience. He's keeping it real. And he stresses that he's not a tactical guru.

  • @MrNazzmaster LMAO nuntfancy is in the military dip shit ...

  • it's Hogwash.

  • Just wanted to clear something up about the movie... The hunters were NOT government officials. They were hunters. Aaron was just paranoid and killed them out of fear. But yea, that knife sucks ass for survival and is way too expensive.

  • when he threw the knife it flew like an arrow. andtommy lee was teaching troops how to kill but was never in combat. his character was puzzling, he was a mountain man/ hippie who detested violence and wolf trapping. this flick was crap. just another film that depicts vets as psychotic murderers. keep in mind tommy lee was roomates with al gore. and the knife forging was horsecrap. nutn u are the best.

  • @jagrench62 If you throw a knife overhand it tumbles and requires skill and lots of practice, timing and distance judgement to get it to land tip first. But you can throw a knife underhand and get it to fly level the whole way. I can do it. IN the movie he throws it underhand.

  • MAN ONE THAT TELLS THE TRUE M4 A1 CAN MAKE THAT HOLE ON THE TREEE

BUT WITH A KNIFE..... PREDATOR PROBABLY COULD THAT SCENE WHEN HE BUILD KNIFE IN THE WOODS ..........I MEAN ...WITH A CERTAIN KIND OF ROCK U CAN MAKE ARROW POINT AND KNIFES OSSIDIANA IS A STONE THAT SARDINIAN

PEOPLE USE TO MAKE BLADES BUT NOT IN 15 MINUTES

  • You keep saying Rambo. I really want to watch those movies now. Nice video though. I dig the look but it is way over priced and I couldn't justify buying one. Get a Ka-Bar.

  • GET A WALTHER MACH TAC

  • You guys are comical. here's the deal, and I offer it to anyone: Give me my glock 17 and you can have your tracker (or any knife for that matter). We'll pace off 21 ft and you can start when you're ready. Guaranteed I'll walk away and you won't. Truth is the tom brown tracker is junk. Way over priced, very limited utility, and very heavy. Nutnfancy
