1:what system is it for?

4: wtf was with Minas Tirith and the inscription from the ring on that guys sword? if hes in the north it wouldnt make much sense if he was from Gondor

@nastrael It's on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, it does have very good voice acting and the story isn't fully based on the movies and books but it happens at around the time of the first movie and onwards as you progress through the game and some of the events will be based on the books and movies such as the forming of the fellowship in rivendell and stuff like that :)

Great game. Just look at it as a new game, not as Lord of the Rings. The battle style is immensly entertaining and the class skills are bad ass. If your reason for not playing this is because it doesn't follow tolkeins exact story line, then newsflash, niether did ANY of the games or ANY of the movies. The only wizards in this game are the Istari. Then there are those who can shape-shift like Sauron. Then there are those who can control the weather like Galadriel, Arwen, and Elrond. Besides those people, there are no other wizards. To be able to play as a mage is fucking ridiculous and Tolkien himself would demand this game to be cancelled.

i really wish these Lord of the Rings games would remain loyal to the lore and concept... Just the fact that you can be a "mage" as a class is sad. Magic is something entirely different in Tolkiens universe than to how it is presented in WoW or Dragon Age. Magic is something ancient and mystical and universal, something that you can only hope to understand if you're just as ancient and mystical and definitely not human, like the nazgûl, or Gandalf, or Tom Bombadil, or Galadriel or Sauron

A role playing game that you can only use magic if you are "not human, like the nazgûl, or Gandalf, or Tom Bombadil, or Galadriel or Sauron" is silly. Of course they are not going to follow Lord of the Rings lore if doing it their way adds to game play and adds a bigger role playing audience. I don't disagree with you because I am a huge Lotr fan, but what you said is just not the way to create a game.

Not at all saying I’d prefer to be a hobbit, but just something less exceptional, if you follow me, discovering the world and challenging these great mystical forces, even though mission seems impossible :) I think that it’d add a much higher level of ‘adventure-feeling’ and intensity to the game than if you were to be a powerful elven mage nerfing some thousand orcs with ya fellow Gondorian elite guards or whatever :)

@Carbonitexo 3. I know I might be gettin a little korny, but just, since I’m such a huge LOTR fan I’ve always wished for a game that would live up to the whole idea behind this great fantasy. Try and notice something about LOTR, whenever characters encounter a danger, they’re fighting with brute force, and that as well adds the feeling of realism, in a weird sense, but that as well makes LOTR special, what separates it from stuff like Dragon Lance.

@Michaelnj123 Nazgul are human... just corrupted by their rings. And magic in Tolkiens universe is to do with domination and machinery. What the Elves and Tom Bombadil use is Art. There's a big difference. Although I do agree with you that these games are doing little more than leaching off the fan base to make money.

And the mage class in this game isn't the mage class you see in most games I think , the magic is far more delicat.

So I personally ignore most of the flaws in games and just try to enjoy the attempt of recreating Tolkien's universe. Because if I started to pay too much attention on the mistakes in all the games based on books or movies , I'd go crazy :P.

I refer to the 80's rpg, not the last release based on the film.
