The global warming question that has now been termed climate change will never be solved by human beings. CO2 is not the cause and is at best an additive factor. The cap and trade system is simply a money grab by the government and an industry killer. It doesn't do anything good in Europe and it will not be benificial in the USA. You want to get rid of CO2? Plant CO2 scrubbers/trees.

The fact is that Every family in the world could live with an acre of land in Australia and they could chose to grow food on that land or grow food everywhere else.

The UN even admits that population problem could be solved if they allowed The third world countries to become industrial countries. Because industrial countries don't have the incentive to have lots of kids because the survival instinct is less apparent. In fact America is having an underpopulation problem.

You do not need to introduce mandatory sterilants to stop people populating "willy-nilly." In many nations the birth rate is below the replacement rate: this is particularly true in European countries, Japan and Australia among others. Having children is a personal choice and should not be controlled, particularly with sterilants. It will be controlled through personal choices and market factors sufficiently.
