wow Cuba has definitely changed a lot since i left in 2003, back then this would have been unheard of, but I guess I'm glad for the LGTBQ community because they were put through a lot.
Mariela Castro Espin just fired a transsexual who used to work in that institute for sexual studies that she heads, because the transsexual has a boyfriend who's a dissident. So much for Mariela's tolerance. Everything in Cuba is a variation on the same theme.
@Rayarena And well done!! Because, see, the best place for an LGBT is what Mariela is trying to build an egalitarian sistem for EVERY ONE, not just for some people... So see, here out in the "free" Caribbean, we LGBT commnuties still fight for at least a law against bulliying or something... and, in the other hand, Cuba has already an entire institution working for us and a law project on egalitarian marriage... A socialist, LGBT, Feminist, Eco-friendly system is what we need. Hasta la victoria!
I was just in Havana and had a great time with all my gay friends!
We went to different gay clubs, the Gay Beach Mi Cayito and even to a gay Paladar (underground rest). One of my best friends is highlighted in this news report!
I will return to Cuba soon, I felt safe and my friends are decent, fun and loving human beings.
All people in Cuba were sent to communal farms to raise food for all people. There is no private property in Cuba. All homes are owned by the state. Which is what socialism IS! Why do people need to own a home? All the old classic cars are also state property. You can drive it as a taxi & make money but you can't sell the car. This is the way American will be by 2020. I pray.
