Anyway the sound acoustics and pianos varied hugely from each venue. The former had a nice Steinway and nice acoustics whereas the latter had an old tired sounding piano and too much reverb, that you would expect in a school etc.
The way this video has been recorded also lets down the quality of her playing. To avoid damaging her reputation I would advise she have her videos more professionally done.
By the way her Bach is second to none and her Chopin is not too bad either!
I've seen Jill live at Bradford Cathedral and also Saltaire URC and on both occasions her playing was excellent, although on the former she said how tired she was.
srsly...what's with all the slow tempo/fast tempo stuff? that coupled with a left hand (and right hand for that matter) accompaniment that's far too loud for the melody makes for a very difficult to listen to interpretation. Sounds more like a bunch of stop and go and then go really fast loud notes all together!
This needs to sounds much more like (or at least bring to mind more of) a ballet dancers graceful arabeske movement afterall that is what an arabeske is no?
none of what your interpretation demonstrates is found in the score..especially the dramatic changes in tempo and dynamic mid-phrase! You're already at double forte WELL before where it's written in the score at a point where i believe it's no more than mp written in the score (schumann's markings btw)

@TreblRebl
i agree with you here. there is too much freedom in the tempo, too much stop and go and fast and slow.
