  • Really good work, currently covering all blues in improvisation class and will find this really useful :).

  • Hey Fran,

I think what you did here is super cool.

    Rich

  • I love your drumming style in this vid... wish I could find a drummer my age that played with your feel lol

  • The bass player is gettin' it!

  • It's amazing! I wanna be like you when I grow up. HAHA :D

  • Great touch! Been enjoying jamming with you on Bobbys tracks.

  • it's pretty entertaining to play along with your video!great drumming!

  • As a "traditional Jazz cat" I have to say this was great! Enjoy most of your videos. Nice selection of music, good recording, and excellent drumming. The toms sound a little bubbly/rounded for this type of music, I prefer them edgier, but that's probably just a personal preference.

  • is that the pre-aged ride? Nice touch on the snare too! Great dynamics!

  • I enjoyed this track. I felt the playing was quite tasteful, and I enjoyed your chops as well. Some of those fills were quite impressive in their speed and dynamics.

  • Oh i can't wait to get my hands on my new drum set with these backing tracks!

    Now i don't need a bassist every time i wanna jam ;)

  • Do you know a fellow drummer named Richie Barsh'e? He teaches in West Hartford. (I'm not sure how to spell his last name)

  • I hate to appear as if I'm giving advice to an accomplished drummer so please take this more as an opinion: have you transcribed Cobb's comping from the original? He compliments the music in a beautiful way with a quarter of the notes. Sometimes less is more. I can appreciate if you were just using the track to practise your swing/3 chops, if so ignore this comment.

  • @johanisu My friend!! PLEASE! Constructive critiscism is ALWAYS welcomed with open arms! I have not transcribed Cobb's comping from the original. My goal here was not to play like Cobb. In the setting of a live band, ABSOLUTELY, I would have played much less. But this IS a backing track. Its purpose allows you to be able to play/practice YOUR OWN IDEAS. MY advise to YOU is to BUY THE TRACK from Bobby! Then you can play like COBB or Elvin or Gadd OR, maybe even play it the way YOU feel it!

  • Hey Fran. How can one get in touch with you? I've tried unsuccessfully sending you a message to your YouTube mailbox. I never get a response.

  • @ShelterDogs So sorry!! Go to my website and email me. cidrumming . com
