I played this game to death on the Apple. Hit the computer player from the back with your axe, while riding a skimmer, and insta-kill. :) Otherwise, just get the axe inside his shield, while keeping his outside of yours, and you will win every time.
This looks like it probably needs an accelerator card, Apple IIc Plus, or Apple IIGS to be playable.

I played this game as I was 6 years old, I loved it. But i hadn't any map at that time, that posed problem with two players...
