@ummabdurrahman1 If you wanna get kinda tricky, you can convert any ladies top pattern into a manlier shape just by making the shoulders a little wider and no curves on the sides (where the waist is). Think kind of like a long, upside-down trapezoid shape for the torso. Also, look at guys collars. Even if its a Vneck it will be much higher than a womens.

Likewise, for bottoms, just think no curves. Pants are usually wider and straighter for mens.

I love the fact that they use old clothes instead of new fabric. It gives you the freedom to go down to your local thrift store and pick out different clothes that you like, instead of getting lost in a fabric store.

my sewing machine SUCKS compared to the ones i see on this show. i've had it for years but i finally took it out of the box and it makes a TERRIBLE noise and skews up regularly when it starts a stitch and shakes violently when going really fast. i tried adjusting everything on the machine, and i can't tell if there's any difference. it screws up no matter what, on EVERY fabric and setting, especially thick fabric.

Because seam ripping allows you to save more of the fabric and it looks cleaner. Also, RHLS are designers. They do this kind of stuff everyday, which is why they have weights. If you did this yourself, you'd understand how much of a help those weights would be.
