Well, I'll give ya fair warning: you go through alot of sugar, so it's not the cheapest hobby to have. Other than that, if you put the feeders at least 3 foot from your house, close to a tree, you won't end up with a bunch of little-bitty birdie poopies on your house! ;)

They're very territorial, so hang at least two. I'm not sure what state in which you live, but it seems like the midwest have the most humminbirds.
