The stands would be very nice in a black clay that we can get here in Atlanta-looks like raku without the trouble ;-) It is sold in 25 lb bags at "Kickwheel" here in Atlanta -they have a website but I'm not sure if the black clay is on it.
Hi Simon! Would you make a very short clip of the pieces that you have on stands like these in your little gallery? With your drawings behind them? Be great to see the finished product in place.
Wonderful to see you back Simon. We need our daily SL videos! Great idea for display and the trivet idea is most excellent. Instant xmas gifts I'm thinking- oh don't tell anyone!!
Thank you so much for this video. The last scene, with you discussing the ceramic trivet, I completely on the same page with your train of thought. I love the idea, and I never would have thought of it!
Interesting thing I hadn't known about until recently, ant traps. It would be a flat bottom bowl with two walls. Four would be made and placed under the legs of the dining room table, or the bed. Fill the space between the two walls with water, and it is a mote to stop ants!
Keep up the great videos! You should make a video maybe once a day of just spinning a pot/vase/bowl or w/e. It really helps to watch the techniques you use when throwing. I'm a bit new at throwing, but i really enjoy it and watching your videos has helped quite alot.
Inspiring and useful video. Definitely going to make some of these, especially for casseroles. As an aside I use a plastic bat occasionally and find if you pour a little water on to the wheel head and then press the bat down firmly when attaching it it stops it from pushing up in the centre (as I noticed the one you were using did).
this shape is so exquisite, perfect ....and the stands are great!!!

Love the idea of raku firing the pedestal so it comes out "basic black." Might have to whip a few of these up. Thanks Simon!!

Great idea. Looks like you've found a new 'home'. Did you sell your property in Spain yet?
