With off-road tyres the Freelander could have done it! Also believe that the power was enought :) it's just a question of traction... more traction, more speed!
is that turbo diesel iff it is get a boost controller, some bigger tyres and wheels and make sure you let the tyres down to about 18 then let them down iff you need more
