I love survival. It definitely takes a certain kind of person to play it though, as it's totally gear reliant, & much less forgiving than face-rolling as BM.
One thing I've found is that a hybrid spec favoring SV vs Pure 41pt SV is often way more effective. I use a 0/27/34 hybrid spec, with 5/5 imp HM and full 3/3 expose weakness. I have 803ag, 29.89% crit, 2179 RAP. With raid buffs, I can pull over 1100 agility and about 37-40% crit.
Yeah this video is not impressive to watch the footage isn't good, no real reason to watch this video unless maybe you know this player personally.. lol
He shows no potential of a skilled survival hunter in this video and it's boring.

For people saying that survival spec sucks, no your wrong. ive been survival spec since level 49 and its dang awesome, i beat beast master hunters this also includes marksmanship hunters. how? well lemme explain in better details.
BM=pet dmg/fear resisting, Marks=Higher dmg/magepwners, Survival=hp+agi increase/critical strike masters. You should all know that you hit higher dmg with critical hits rather than marksmanship normal high dmg shots.
i did BM and i cant find a MM hunter that can kill me, but i cant say the same all specs are good for pvp imo just depends how u fight, i just rely on my pet a lot

Nice damage and that but tbh i am half-way through the video and i have yet to see a fight scene where you are under pressure getting hit from ANYTHING. For me, it hardly demonstrates if survival hunters can pvp.
Hey, BM hunters seem to be tricky for me with my raid spec or pvp spec, since they cannot be CC'd when red. Usually I try to run out of range from the hunter, and throw up deterrence and AotM to dodge the pets attacks... then I just keep running from the hunter, melee attacking the pet until BW is over, then go all out on the hunter maybe wing clipping the pet to get it away from me.
golden age of Survival was instant Wyvern sting, it come back with 2.3, the age of warriors actaully having a chance againts hunters is back to almost nill once again.

of course you can have both.. it is a great choice.. but .. i prefer readiness because.. i can put more traps in duels. and.. because i am engineer.. i use bombs.. that stun de enemy :P so i really don't need scatter when i have a bomb that can do like 800 damage and stun the target for 3 seconds.. ^^
yeah u can leave a readiness out for scattershot u know, BTW ownage, managed to get a 4437 crit with survival i saw XD, ive gone survival but i dont have readiness, ive got all survival and MMS upto scattershot

no is almost impossible to kite.. warriors have intercept.. shaman have frostshock... paladins can stuns us... I prfer survival... i can use wyvern sting 2 times in a duel.. "more aimed shots" and i can use more times my traps...all this with readiness.. scatter shot is great i know but i prefer to use bombs :P
to each his own I guess but I've been playing hunters for 2 years now and was specced survival first and tought it was the best thing like you until I respecced MM, now I litterally annihilate ppl in PvP.. WS is good for interecpting and such but it's a PvE tool, it's completely useless in the heat of the moment, a hunter is most vulnerably when opponents get within melee range and scattered shot is the perfect tool for kiting them.
Hunters are OP. Enough said..
