Ignorance. 'She Moved Through the Fair' is a traditional song. i.e. it's so old that the writer and composer cannot be traced back. The song was "found" in 1909; no one knows when it was written.
Woops, no see below - I was replying to the comment made by the chap who seemed to think this tune was plagiarised from a Mark Knopfler song. Comment not directed at you. Don't know why my comment appears twice.
It is indeed - and my recording volume was too high so the S's do sound a bit harsh It was a quick fix solution as I couldn't find this anywhere else on tinternet.
Somewhere in the depths of my record collection I have a haunting version of this song that I've always loved. Camilla's version is even more beautiful. The most incredible voice I think I've ever heard.
gorgeous song, and absolutely wonderfully sung. I read about her in the news of the world today and have been looking for her everywhere after hearing this on WU2W. She's stunning as well!!
Totally musically geeky...but the music shown as the picture is in a different time signature to the audio...not that it matters I suppose, but certainly looking forward to hearing more, anyone know when the album's out?
I rather like it sung in 4/4 time! I don't think there was any implication that this is the score of this particular performance. The song is more commonly performed in triple time. Those of us who are musicians will realise - and not care! - and those who are not will be unaware of the discrepancy anyway.
Delighted to find this on Youtube! I've been trying to find it to buy since hearing it on Terry Wogan's show and being completely transfixed. I've always loved this haunting song but this raises it to a new level; taking it at this very slow tempo really emphasises the exquisite harmonies and C.K.'s purity of tone. I can't wait to buy for it to come out and to hear more from her.
Absolutely lovely ! I heard this on WU2W & came running down the stairs when I heard these beautiful haunting strains - thought it was Hayley Westenra. Camilla has the same pure quality in her voice. Went looking for Camilla Kerslake and couldn't find anything, then says Terry the next day, it's not released yet! BEAUTIFUL...Thank you for uploading this
...and then she starts to sing.

This is a complete rip off of a Mark Knopfler melody, The Fish & the Bird.

Fair enough, I stand corrected CareAL. I am blinded by Knopfler's brilliance.Nice song though.

Very captivating. Makes you stop what you are doing just to listen - not many singers have that ability
