think about those who have lost their loved ones thru police killings, mungiki, starvation, election aftermath, tribal clashes, poor management of firefighters u name it ,properties can be replaced lifes not with a million shs.
Two wrongs will never make a right. The students in question turned out to be thugs and looters.Viongozi wa kesho my foot.Casaulties and death are minor issues if you arent affected.Think of the people who lost properties, are they policemen?are they kibaki or Raila?Lets be realistic and care about our brothers and sisters otherwise we are not different from our oppressors.
Yes Raila here are your boys, shameless PM.This is kenya and not abroad. You cant give a baby a razor blade just because they ask for it.let them cry until they mature, they will know it cant wound them.Work hard in your position to get attention and not empty rhetoric.
@nkunkutah First of all why should we differetient between abroad or not ,the rite to demos is not a privilege its a rite of every citizen wherever and uni students are no babys , casaulties are a minor issues compared to the BURNING ISSUES WHICH ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ADDRESSED BY THE GOVERMENT AND DEALT WITH .
Yes atleast Nairobi University can come together and Fight for rights of there fellow Students!!!Go GO Go guys!!wazi!its funny vile ile gari ilisukumwa na wadhii!!hahahahahaaaa Wazi policemen should start to know that kenyans wont let them do wrong and run away!!!
Is this clip tryin to put the demo in a negative light or what? The first lot to confront the Goverment over burning issues and what happens ........sick,apart from the pm nobody was for a demo. WAKE UP CALL WHERE ARE YOU
if i was a police my self i wouldnt hesitate to shoot some of this thugs no plotest now for atleast 50yrs for this thugs ati future leaders no wonder old guys are being recycled if universioty behaves this way na high school je
Protesting is not bad, but in a polite manner may make a move to those in power when u loot seems u did it for destraction, & not for sympathy! come on guys be realistic!
Better organization of these students would go a (better) long way. This protest was heavy on unruliness and therefore will be ineffective. Nothing will be solved and now they will only face retaliation from the powers-that-be, just like the 90's. Organization.
some guys are only talking of destroyed property what is more painful life or property? why dont you insist that the killers be brought to book first, yeah infact they are the ones who should pay for your property coz the demo was caused they are the reason why the demo took place.......
the police not stopping these students protests, shows how education can be respected by thieves and corrupt leaders.... i wonder where this students were when someone was sworn ito office in the dark.... kenya need us to stop impunity corruption, and grand theft... thumbs up people.. and keep it up.. root out all the trash!
Exactly they should know if they could stop the students they could see cars and everything being rooted!hehehee Go guys teach them manners silly policemen!
Hey guys give me a break!!!! AT last these students have the guts to protest at the risk of losing their lives or being expelled fron uni and somebody is bickering over some samosas or mandazis which they ate on the way SO WHAT!!!! ppl are being shot dead just like that corruption at its highest and hunger for most of the population etc WTF!!!!!
Mr. Prime Minister, you have to remind the students that they abused your privilege when you allowed them to demonstrate! They were not meant to destroy any property. Discipline must be enforced, so students learn to respect the rule of law that they so much demand others to respect! They have to act within the law. The owners of the vandalised properties demand justice. It is a tough lesson, and these children must be tought by you bwana PM.
How stupid you students? How do you want to win the Prime Minister's support next time? He knows, many times being an activist himself, that you felt aggreaved and you had to vent your anger and demonstrate your solidarity with the situation. However, it was meant to be a peaceful demo. All those who vandalized and destroyed property must be brought to book if you want the killers of Oscar to be equally apprehended. It is justice for all, and there are laws against vandalism as against murder.
Warero = Walalo ... Wacha ku'make ma'comments za upuzi kwa ma'videos za Kenya ... "Ati wasee wanapigana kwa sababu ya unga" ... Seriously, wewe ni mmoja wao ama nini ... Nacheki Recession ime'hit hard huh!

you seem to be living in yr own world and illitrate for that matter.dont you have anything better to say. you are not helping kenyans either by being a tribalist.pelekeni hiyo upumbavu wenyu mabli the 2 of you . jerks.
The University students who violated the coffee shop, and any other property that is not on this clip should be brought to justice and made to pay all the damages attributed to their criminal conduct. There is a need for more cameras in Nairobi and other major cities to deter criminal activities. The students who were caught on camera violating and vandalizing other people's property should have their day in court, or settle with the violated victims.
Is it any wonder that this kind of primitive behavior occurs when freedom of expression is met with government assassinations or oppression - we have raised generations of kids who equate demonstration with riot. We need to teach our children that one can express herself or himself without destroying what belongs to others.
Very shameful, and an affront to the deceased student whom the demonstration was ostensibly supposed to honor. They have only succeeded in shifting the focus from police brutality to their beastly conduct. I wish Raila had strongly emphasized the need for the students to be peaceful when he ordered that they be allowed to demonstrate. A bunch of shameless neanderthals hiding behind the walls of erudite institutions. This kind of conduct should have no room in Kenyan Universities.
i always crack up when i see such....common kenyans..hahahahhaa

Disgusting!!
And university students wonder why the police force uses excessive force?
Honestly, with this kind of behaviour, it would take a very tolerant, sane, well paid and disciplined officer to use restraint.
Look at the future leaders...am laughing not because am happy but coz there is nothing else i can do!!
