  • I think the car you are asking for WAS indeed produced by Honda. It was the 1st Generation Honda Insight (2000-2006). It ran on a 1.0 L, 67 HP engine and weighed in at around 1900 lbs. Apparently the car didn't sell well and was expensive to produce due to the aluminum body. The car achieved 70 mpg highway, 61 mpg city! It did exist, but Americans often think bigger = better and don't like 2 seater vehicles. Search for Honda Insight year 2000 under Fuel Economy website!

  • Cause people are dumb

  • In the 90's we started testing for a 5th gas coming out the tailpipe. NOx is a very deadly and very unstable gas. And this gas is produced once temperatures inside the engine reach 2500 degrees F. The engine reaches the temp the learner (more air vs fuel) the mixture gets. So, since the 90's, cars cycle a rich/ lean mix to keep the temps right below the NOx producing temp, vs. the CRX HF which ran lean the entire time which produced massive loads of NOx.

  • probably would not sell in high enough numbers. People do not get excited about buying stripped down cars that won't impress thier friends!
