@guitarkid177 its something EVH found and used many many times. you gently put ur pinky of ur pick hand on the G string and do not press down to hard or u wont get the harmonic but too light and only noise. u rapidly hammer on and pull off on the string and glide ur hand up and down the strings and the harmonics will change in pitch. sry if im not that good with explaining the easiest way is just to try it out
that's a really good idea with the left and right track thing. if i ever get enough money to afford an electric guitar (i only have an acoustic and a bass) i'm going to totally steal your idea lol
He pulls the strings with the left hand, while setting the "place" of the harmonics, near the pickups, with the right hand(with the pick of the fingers)...
very tricky, but with some patience and practice, you can nail it!
Well, you are definately better than me, the recording is higher quality -- but I got the same guitar (except rosewood fretboard) -- LOL. Anyway, I posted a video response just for laughs.
Killer job dude...BTW how do you call that technique you make the harmonics sliding your right hand at 2:08?

he's not using pinch harmonics. if you look at his picking hand, he's sliding his hand up and down the strings
pinballwizard1234 2 years ago
those harmonics at 2:09... How?
CSN152 2 years ago
hammer on pull offs with your fret hand and lightly slide the fatty part of the palm on your pick hand across corresponding string over the pickups.

daytripper71 2 years ago
do a hammer on on any string, and just hammer and pull off 0-2-4 and slide your hand up the string.

if you don't have the same pickup, it will sound way different! The PAF is a big part of Eds sound.
