I made the bowls in smaller sizes and used as an appetizer with orange chicken in the middle....they were so cute and yummy...and every1 wondered how I did it! Thanks for the ideas.
theres a better way to make the bowl... u can put a real bowl in the foil and wrap the foil around the bowl and then take out the bowl and u have a mold.
@MontthiewOrbano it tends to fall apart and expand because the creases fall apart, although it's not terrible. I tried many, many options. If you try in, take a photo and send it to me. :-)
i LoVe how u walk out to put the RICE in the grill w/ out taking the rice w/ u heheheh at 5:44 also wat i dont get is that u still need a plate to hold the bowl hehehe but LoVe the idea n i will try it thanx
Kikkoman soy sauce has wheat! First ingredient listed on the bottle. There are other alternatives, like San-J soy sauce or HyVee brand soy sauce. An easy substitution to make them gluten free!
you are correct, to make it gluten free you need to use a gluten free soy sauce, which are readily available. If you make one, take a pic and send it to me.
Easiest way to "cut" an egg white is with the edge of the broken shell. Works well getting a shred of shell out of the bowl, but equally well at dividing an egg white in half.
...and one more thing...ahem... your foil is made of aluminum, not tin.
that's a valid question. I would say this is something you do on a special occasion. Rice is fine the way it is, in the same way bread is, but a bread bowl is just more fun. So it is with the rice bowl.
You could make pre-made bowls or rice bowl kits! That's probably what you were thinking. People love to buy kits....especially busy families. Kids think they're so much fun. :)
Good video....We'll be trying it! Kids would think it's fun!!
I have a question....since you're a fellow Minnesotan...I was wondering if you knew how to make lefse? :-) We buy it and put butter, sugar and cinnamon on it...but it would be nice to make our own lefse.
I think most people in the U.S. don't eat it or really know what it is.....that's what I've noticed. They're really missing out!
in indonesia it is kerak nasi

afgdukhtar92 2 years ago
oops, you're right. As for needing a plate, even with a bread bowl you don't just put it on the table. They still to on plates.
Good luck and let me know how it comes out.

yeah actually i did it today it came out good but my rice bowl burned a little but over all it was good thanx =)

Cool idea!!!
However, the question is... Is a rice bowl better or equal tasting then regular white rice, or is this just a novelty thing for fun?
I'm worried I'd do all this work and then wish I hadn't!

I usually separate the whites by placing the egg in my hand and letting it drip through.
That non-stick foil is a godsend! I love it!
