The reason we have the bakers dozen is because 13 IS supposed to be lucky. It's 12 that's supposed to be bad luck. Of course, it's all in one's head anyway.

It's the fear of the number 13. It could be the most unluckiest number on earth, even today's date is Friday, the 13th.

I guess people's opinions of the number are divided: it's true more Americans see 13 as bad luck, but there are still some who feel optimistic about it. (An upbeat, positive song makes more sense for Sesame Street too: goodness knows how many kids *accidentally* learn to be afraid of some letter/number after seeing a sketch on that show!)

Nah, I do not like the number 13. I know how bad number 13 is. If you divide into 2, 3, 4, 6, or even 12, there is always one left over.
