Western Classical music Theory is the study of Diatonic Harmony. A note is a wavelength. Actually G# and A flat are techniqually different frequencies JS Bach invented they way to tune instruments so they are the same so a keyboard will harmoize with other instrumensts.

first e is open, its the e-string because you dont play any frets
