He arranges his ride crashes too his left as well as his right making it much more versatile. It also helps becaues he runs a lot of the metronome and click tracks they do from an impulse pad. It is pretty cool talking to him about it. Whole band is down to earth and great to talk to. Praise our Lord God.

the way that David's drummer plays is just not quite good... don't know why, but in the chorus part he just didn't do his job right. But I love the way that Dave plays his guitar, you could tell he knows what he's doing and God is definitely blessing him with his talents. Great Song!
That's mostly the bad recording I think. The ride symbol is cutting through too much and the snare and (especially) the kick aren't. IMO, the quality of the recording is what's putting you off. I've seen them live a few times, and I think he's one of the more disciplined drummers I've heard. He contributes to the sound well without being flashy in a way that (I believe) is essential for worship music of this genre.
I don't know why ever gave this comment thumbs down. It's not like it's a bad comment. Anyways, it's def. the recording. He's playing tight and not all that complicated. It sounds good, just not the way it was recorded.
Moving away for uni next year and recently have been starting to get nervous. This song has just totally set my heart at peace about the whole thing- all God's promises that I'm never alone are more than enough.

I don't agree. I see that you are a fan of Chris Tomlin. You must like dulled down music and lyrics that all sound the same song after song. At least Crowder has diversity. God of This City should never have been sold to Tomlin to use. Bluetree did a great job writing that song and Tomlin ruined it.

I bet you're right Miksta- Good call. I didn't really think of that. The sound guy has a whole lot to do with it. And sometimes the venue and stage configuration is out of his control. No matter what though, this is truly a great band. It took me awhile to warm up to them for some reason, but their music has grown on me and I will purchase their cd soon.

the way that David's drummer plays is just not quite good... don't know why, but in the chorus part he just didn't do his job right. But I love the way that Dave plays his guitar, you could tell he knows what he's doing and God is definitely blessing him with his talents. Great Song!

That's mostly the bad recording I think. The ride symbol is cutting through too much and the snare and (especially) the kick aren't. IMO, the quality of the recording is what's putting you off. I've seen them live a few times, and I think he's one of the more disciplined drummers I've heard. He contributes to the sound well without being flashy in a way that (I believe) is essential for worship music of this genre.

I don't agree. I see that you are a fan of Chris Tomlin. You must like dulled down music and lyrics that all sound the same song after song. At least Crowder has diversity. God of This City should never have been sold to Tomlin to use. Bluetree did a great job writing that song and Tomlin ruined it.

I do believe that this is worship. However, we are also to do our very best with our talents and I'm sorry, but our best is not rewriting a song over and over with the same musical parts. One needs to keep growing in their talents just as they do their faith. We were all made unique and while I believe that one must also be able to worship under any condition, one also has preferences to what moves them more. this version of the song completely blows my mind. having sat for just over 5 hours ive just managed to play a resemblence of the intro. Chris and louie are absolute ledge for writing this song and David Crowder just does it justice everytime. this version actually has me in tears when i hear it!!!

I bet you're right Miksta- Good call. I didn't really think of that. The sound guy has a whole lot to do with it. And sometimes the venue and stage configuration is out of his control. No matter what though, this is truly a great band. It took me awhile to warm up to them for some reason, but their music has grown on me and I will purchase their cd soon.

First off, placing ALL Christian music leaders into that pious, stereotypical group is narrow-minded and naive. Secondly, no TRUE Christian musician would claim that they themselves ARE NOT sinners. Show me an example of where a religious leader claims to be perfect, and I might actually put some thought into your worthless response. Christian musicians only want lead others to glorify God, not glorify themselves. So, before criticizing Christian music, start thinking in broader perspectives.

Ya know supershaneman, in a way, I would have to agree with you. I am a Christian. I listen to mostly Christian music...but Christian Musicians are sinners...just like everyone else. And some Christian bands DO discuss "heavier subject matters" (like sex.) I'm specifically thinking about Switchfoot and Toby Mac right now. ...yeah, some Christian Bands are lousy. Some secular bands are good. I think we need to look at the content of an album, rather than whether or not it is labeled "Christian".

And I don't think its the "Christian" bands that drive it... rather its people like you, Christians, who say these guys have to be something more... just because in there songs they wish to sing about Jesus. And then the craziness starts! Every song they sing has to be something spiritual or their sell-outs and reprobate, and God forbid they discuss sex or heavier subject matter and they're completely shunned. Its ludicrousy! ARGH!

Dont worship the band, they are just there to help you in a form of worship to God. It seems that we put them there and forget who we are really worshipping. We jump to the music and go crazy as if its some kind of concert instead of respecting the presence of God that is there... :)

I agree. that's the problem; we use to look at the instruments more often than the player. By the other hand, we shouldn't think of these guys as a "cool" band, but as a ministry with a special focus on the non- believer youth. Each one of us, in Jesus' body, is a priest and a minister of His Love to the nations, and to our brothers and sisters all over the world. anyway, hope the people DCB never lose their focus (Jesus, and He alone).
