After shredding they still take considerable volume. Isn't flattening the cars a better option?

@Nomasain Well, flat bodies make it quite hard to take out recyclable parts.

Why can't I see any videos on Youtube of shredding SUVs and pickup trucks???
That would be so much more interesting to see than weak old car bodies.

Turbocharged Diesel engines - similar to those in locomotives.
-Is there any truth that the UK Govt is deploying dozens of these beauties to HM Prisons in a novel effort to 'reduce' the prison population ?
