  • Get rid of those incandescent headlamps and replace with LED.

  • Both Citicars and Commutacars are CARS, NOT NEV's.

    They do not need any special laws or anything like that. They were never designed to go super-fast, more like 35 to 40 mph. Fast enough.

    The whole car is a roll-cage and has three-point seatbelts, but even if it had the speed I wouldn't take it on the freeway.

    As a simple and efficient way to run around town, go to work, the grocery store and library, they are great little vehicles.

    Expected range on these would be 30 to 50 miles per charge.

  • Actually, by definition, a NEV isn't even legal to drive on the highway because of their low maximum speed, so they should be okay. However, if they did make it highway capable, then it wouldn't be considered a NEV anymore, so I see your point.
