I struggled with addiction when I was a believer, and one night I had my breaking point "cry out to God" moment. There was no answer. Nothing. I realized then and there I was going to have to use my own strength (and the strength of others) to get better. I did it without a god. Others can too. If someone thinks a god exists it helps them, fine, but I worry about what happens when you look down one day and see that your crutch is invisible and was never actually there.
