I like Avril Lavigne very much and this song is becides her Girlfrien the second in my "Avril Lavigne" list). But woudnt it be better if she would sing the verse and not the chorus in Japanese? Because it is the Chorus here which really makes this song and is its emotional explosion and since you can't understand a word and she is singing this part somehow more silent then the verse and not so expressively it isnt really the same drive as in English version. But she rocks anyway)

I am sure Avril didn't Japanese lessons for this song... and probably didn't learn any of the other language she has translated this song to either. Most of the time they have a vocal coach try to help the artist pronounce the song as best as possible in a fast amount of time. She surely didn't learn to speak all the languages as a native of that country because it would take years. Without actual Japanese lessons, you can't expect much. So the complaints are not very understanding.

if a native english speaker speaks another language, the english accent is always heard (only if they're bilingual from birth and have two native languages). it is very hard for them to pronounce words in a non english way, so don't laugh at her bad japanese. at least she tried.
