  • @2tuque2 They've ALL been castrated?!?

  • I'm very new to Sloan, and I wanna get into their albums. But man, where do I even start?! There's 10! So if anyone cares to direct me, I'd appreciate it.

  • @OrangeySnicket Start at #1.

  • @OrangeySnicket Well "Smeared" and "Twice Removed" (first two) are arguably their best albums.Their third "One Chord To Another" is excellent and just as good as their first two. Those 3 are essential. But i think "Action Packed"(with "Rest Of My Life) is my favourite.

  • @cambruoso Thanks!

  • @OrangeySnicket Start off by listening to A Sides Win, Sloan's "Best of" album. It has all their hits and all the songs that got people into Sloan in the first place. After listening to the hits then get into the albums, cause they're just as amazing!

  • @MattLiv Not all of them. An American uploaded this video, after all ;)

  • how old is this song?

  • @hotwheelsrawesoms1 It came out in 2003.

  • @annib00 Ah jeez, I know what I won't be sending to my American boyfriend. That's heavy, sorry to hear that

  • Sloan, since thier early days as a partly art college, totally underground phenomena in Halifax has always had as thier trademark intelligent lyrics backed up by great music.

They were very rough and raw in the early days, and I wasn't sure at first about the new polish when they made it.

Now I can't believe I had any doubts.

  • Another good song is Electric Love - by July Days

  • 18 people have autism.

  • Love this song and the video! Reminds me of listening to great power pop with my little brother back in the 60's & 70's. Saw Sloan, finally, at Coachella a few years back and it was awesome!!! Canadians: love you; thanks for all the great music!

I NEVER SAID ANY SUCH THING!!! I DON'T NEED CAPS LOCK,TO MAKE ''MY''

WORLD BETTER THAN, WHAT IT IS...I'M HAPPY WRITING &,PRODUCING- &,JUST CRUISING UNTILL MY NEXT ROYALTY CHECK COMES IN!!!

  • IS THIS ABOUT FEIST ?

  • GOOD SONG,GREAT BAND,VERY UNDER-RATED!!!

  • They remind me of the Beatles :D <3

  • @r4ndomH3R0 SORRY,NOT QUITE!!! THEY ARE A GOOD BAND THOUGH...!!!

  • @CHURCHILLSTAN723 CAPS LOCK MAKES U FEEL ON TOP OF THE FUCKIN WORLD, AM I RIGHT?! !!

  • Long Live Canadian Artists!

  • Wow... I didn't know that Sloan did this song... Fail on my part.

  • Comment removed

  • @metalslut1 I was thinking the same thing about you....

  • @DanLetts97 Sorry, but he DOES look like David Koresh! Heh heh. LOL! This song is out of control...in fact, it's WACO! LOLO! ;) Sorry, I couldn't resist. Good song though.

  • Can't wait to see them @ Red Dog (Peterborough, ON) on October 12!

  • chris is actually my cousin

  • Saw these guys in Lewiston last night. I talked with Chris a few hours before the show and he's such a cool guy.

Then during the show when they played this song, everyone screamed when he sang "I know that I'll be living it in CANADA!"

Such a sick show! These guys are SO underrated.

  • I love how they make fun of Underwhelmed

  • I just very recently started looking into Sloan. I had their tune "The Good In Everyone" in my head from The Hour, and decided to listen to more of their stuff, since everyone seems to love this band, and god... I wish I was on board with these guys years ago. They honestly remind me of a modern version of The Beatles. AND they are from Canada. Fuckin' eh! Love this song.

  • @CanadaDan7 See them live if you get a chance. They are a blast; switiching instruments and vocals. They were the first concert I ever went to back in February 1995 and I've seen them many, many times since. While my preference is for their first 3-4 albums, everything they've released is worthwhile and Canada is lucky to have had them around for almost 20 years now.

  • @annib00

With all due respect, this entire song sounds like a breakup message. But if you honestly sent it because you wanted to share some amazing fucking music, then he wasn't worth it. Reading into things like that. Jeez XD

But yeah. Seriously. SLOAN IS FUCKING ACE.

  • This is one of the best videos ever.

  • @annib00 really? sad but neat that music says so much

  • I love Sloan, but I dont think Chris Murphy is cool.

  • @EggDoctor agree. sorry Murph.

  • @ kdiopgh, you spelt canadians wrong man

  • well then i guess you caught me lying to myself .. what kind of fool doesnt think about it?... you'd have to be a fool not to think about it

  • Ow Sloan, How do i Love your ear drugs

  • saw them live yesterday!!! OMG THEY WERE AMAZING!!!!!

  • This is the greatest band making music today!!!

  • i saw these guys at westfest a couple of hours ago here in ottawa. and i fully agree! i will be livin' it in canada the best country ever!

  • Slaon West Fest here in Ottawa Tonight Woooo

  • HALIFAX FTW!!!

  • rock on! xD

  • i liked both those highest rate comments because the one thing i know about the rest of MY life i'll be living in canada...i love candians

  • This rockin' tune holds up beautifully, and having just come back from the USA, ONE THING I KNOW ABOUT THE REST OF MY LIFE....I know that I'll be living it in C - A - N - A - D - A!

Where we have medical care that doesn't force us to sell our home if we get cancer, or need surgery. And, we have good public schools....and we are generally healthier. Come on up Americans. We love you too!

  • @rocktenniscat And we have good beer and weed!

  • @quincee33 - my weed days are over, but I'm there about the BEER!!!

  • Respond to this video...i just realized they're playing on my Birthday in a few weeks...Awesome! might have to check them out since i live in Toronto.

    (Y)

  • @Laverty318 When are they playing!?!

  • @FlashRiot April 29th at the Karma Lounge

  • nice music :) sounds like a modern version of the beatles

  • Hey would ya'll mind checkin out my videos? They are my original songs.Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!

Sloan never stops pumpin out those sweet melodies.

  • My real name is Sloan! lol :)

  • they kinda remind me of weezer

like the same laid back attitude in the singers voice

  • @mmoneyitswhereitsat that's funny cuz weezer kinda brought me to sloan :)

  • Did you hit him over the head for that? If I were dating a girl who was into Sloan I don't think I'd ever let her go and be happy about it

  • @chrissept21: it is "know", son. they know that they'll be living it in canada. and staying in canada and not being "grunge" enough circa 1994 = getting dropped from geffen and starting murderecords (local rabbits anyone?). Can't fucking believe i am the old dude defending ghosts...a real momento mori bitches, when i first got into sloan i was 15...all thing will pass (and not necessarily in a cool george harrisoney way)

  • it was a short cut??

  • ideally it's the same thing though.

grunge was the new and popular sound of the early 90's I guess they thought they'd be the sell outs of the alternative music generation.

  • @chrissept21 Based on the fact that a) you either can't spell or have incredibly poor thought processing skills, and b) cite the success of theory of a dead man as a good thing, I pray you'll keep your commenting on...pretty much anything to a bare minimum. Theory of a dead man is a joke in Canada, and something tells me that avoiding popularity in circles like yours is more like dodging a bullet to them.

  • @jettisom isnt that what i just said, they sell them selves out to the states move there make a life there cuz it means more money, " im just doing my rock and roll duty, creating a buzz buzz buzz, not in it for the money" kim mitchell

  • "One thing I know about

    The rest of my life

    I know that Ill be

    Living it in Canada"

  • @elfredmatining you betcha till we die

  • different folks — different strokes.

  • @elfredmatining Completely agree with Mr. Murphy! No better country in the world. Sure, I can travel and appreciate other places, but I'll always come home. Wouldn't want to live anywhere else :)

  • Comment removed

  • @elfredmatining Every time i hear that verse it gives me goosebumps!Sloan makes "living in Canada" even cooler!

  • @cambruoso Is it cool if it makes me want to move to Canada?

  • If they was American they would be world famous but because they are Canadian people dont gave a shit.

  • I give a shit!!! :) :) :)

  • The most under-rated, underestimated and absolutely most brilliant pop artist, songwriters of our time, unheard by the rest of the world - an effin shame, the industry is run by retards - People in the housin projects I use to live by (all around Toronto - I move alot) blast bands like sloan and billy talent in between looong sets of rap and dancehall music - but it just proves the crossover appeal of these bands

  • Who gives a shit about where they are from?

  • Sloan fans, I'm guessing.

  • GO CANADA GO!

  • As a canuck living in th UK I can't understand why these guys were never marketed over here!

There are plenty of North American bands who've made it over here in a big way who aren't fit to string Sloan's guitars!

  • I don't understand it either. But I guess it keeps everything domestic and original.

  • love this song, i stood out in the freezing cold, new years going into 2009 in Barrie, Ont. just to see them, can't complain it was a free concert

  • not bad, not really my type of music, but i can see how peoples would like it!

  • Cool song! Great talents in the band! R they from Canada? I think the lyrics says so.

  • They are indeed from Canada.

  • Yay!

  • doesnt matter when. just ppl can love this song though. doesnt matter when again.

  • i met the lead singer he said he was born and raised a nerd and hes proud of it lol and he kinda looks like napoleon dinamite lol <3

  • Napoleon Dynamite looks like Chris Murphy! :P Atleast I think his name is Chris Murphy lmao

  • @kFreaXr I think he looks like David Koresh : o !!!

  • Great song

  • i was in canada between 200Z and 2005 ( awesome time i had there by the way) andthis song was on at the time... brings back memories. And i love the band.

  • this song was made in 2006

  • this band is soooo freaking awesome:)!!!

i had the awesome oppertunity to play with these guys about 3 years ago at the savoy theatre in sydney:D those guys are the nicest people i've ever got the oppertunity to see

  • This group is fantastic. My son even likes this song and he's like 8..

  • great canadian band along with the other million canadian bands theses days keep on rockin canada

  • lame

  • is this an older band or are they just old?

  • nah these guys are like, 32

  • 40's now

  • Yeah the yare an older band sloan's been around for awhile now almost 20 years (18 technically) and they are older too so ya know but doesn't change the quality of their music haha

  • nope theyre just canadians :D
