  • Fine job, really

  • i love your video!!!!wonderful wonderful !!!!!

  • Why does the artist show 4 drivers when the "231" in the title indicates 2 front giude wheels, 3 drivers and 1 rear guide wheel on each side of the locomotive? Also "pacifics" were almost exclusively over the road freight pullers.

  • Even though Jean Mitry was there a long time before MSTS, this is a great effort. Does justice to the locomotive AND the composer.

  • @gomro I appreciate the comment. I actually made this vid having no knowledge of Mitry's short film. I now feel this is sacrilege since his work is so much better. However, I plan on re-making this with Railworks, since you can get better camera angles. This time I will be using the Flying Scotsman, or possibly Tornado.

  • You should modify the description of your video. Honegger didn't actually write this to imitate a steam locomotive specifically—the title was changed to "Pacific 231" later. The locomotive was on his mind, but he was aiming more at the general feel of machinery and the Futurist concept that machines lived and breathed.

Anyhow, great concept for a video. I wish the train didn't really get under way until 3:37—that's really when the music reaches inertia. But still, well done! :-)

  • @TheRealmsOfGold I had come to that realization a little after making the vid. I will be attempting a new version sometime in March, and I will take your advice about getting the train underway. Though I plan on using a different arrangement of the piece, which indicates that the engine is moving faster. I only made it gain inertia quickly because the Chapelon Pacific was a fast engine.

  • @TheRealmsOfGold No you are quite wrong, he was a railway enthusiast.

  • Respond to this video... Perhaps an attempt with large scale miniatures would yield a better result?

Mucho mejor es está música para una locomotora a vapor: "Steam a tribute to the creature born from iron, water and fire"
