I WON THIS GAME!!! I won it in 1994 in a contest from McDonalds! I filled out an entry form, I came home from school, discovered a box in the mailbox and it said I won 1st Prize! I WAS SO HAPPY!!

Though the Grand Prize was a brand new Sega Genesis WITH Sonic 3 included. Still...I was so freakin' happy! I still have the cartridge, and I play the shit out of it!

This commerical was funny as the Sonic and Knuckles commerical I learned from the interview with the producer of Sonic that Sonic 3 was to be big but the stuff that makes up Sonic and Knuckles were in reality to be in Sonic 3 but cut from the game kinda of like some of the levels in Sonic 2 like the Hidden Place and the Wood Zone.

actually it was, due to the fact that sonic and knuckles is sonic 3 but as a marketing scheme they released it with the lock on technology

Not really a marketing scheme, as they needed to reach the deadline and the total game wasn't finished. So they split it into two carts, releasing Sonic 3 first and then Sonic & Knuckles later on when they were finished.

Yup, but if the Sonic Team hadn't those time pressure for releasing the game, Sonic 3 would be a single game. S&K wouldn't have existed and Sonic 3 would have natively 14 levels and Knux playable. Instead, S3 has 6 levels while S&K had the other eight.
