  • THIS IS AWESOME!!!! I was 7 when this came out!!

  • ... got it yesterday. I'm 37 and now I'm out of therapy. Thanks, Marx Toys, thanks, alot. :)

  • never did get one and now Im screwed up

  • I love my Mom for getting me one of these even though we were pretty poor. It rocked.

  • whom ever got that patent and controlled this trademark must be a millioaire many times over..

  • Wanted one but never got it! :-o

  • This was the shit back in the day. My poor-ass parents didnt get me one. Arseholes.

  • Thumbs up if "Chinpokomon" episode of South Park brought you here.

Remember that bike that nobody could ride because of the way it was designed?

  • Carried quite a mystique in 70s burbs. Big wheels were a dime a dozen but green machines were the rolls Royce of plastic wheels.

  • Best toy EVER.

  • LOL omg i had one of these things. I wore holes in all of the wheels. We used to see how bad we could wreck it lol. never did tear that sucker up except for the holes in the wheels. You could actually peal out with this one too.

  • I'm shocked they brought this riding toy back for kids to enjoy with the way parents are today in being so overly protective. What if junior get's a boo boo cut or something while riding their Green Machine. Such a scary name. My mommy use to kiss my boo boo and made it all better. Today, suing the toy manufacturer is how they would probably make it all better. Then the toy that all the kids love would be banned.

  • @OldSchool710 yeah, and then parents wonder why all kids do today is play video games. DUH! You banned all the good toys!

  • i was blown away gen i got it.....

  • Wanted one so bad....but never got one.:(

  • My Mom bought me one for my 9th birthday. It was awesome until a friend of mine who was 10 years old and weighed 200 pounds got on it and broke it in half!! My mom was pissed!!!

  • LoL, I remember that commercial.

  • Green Machine, Stretch Armstrong, Adventure People and Shogun Warriors - 70's toys were the best.

  • @NitroPazuzu

    Damn right!!!!!!

  • @NitroPazuzu With all due respect, I beg to differ. I had one of these...monsters. It weent out of control on me going down hill, slammed into the curb, then a tree. I almost lost my...

  • I guess girls can't ride it.

  • @iateanickle Nope.

  • You should see one of the new ones. They rock!

  • Good times right there. Now I have a filling Santa is going to bring my son one for Christmas. :)

  • I was UNSTOPPABLE on my Green Machine !!! skidded out everywhere !!!

  • I got my Green Machine for X-Mas in 1977 - man I loved it.

  • you were cool if you had a big wheel...but if you had a green machine you was ballin' hard!!

  • I had a green machine, there were awesome. Very hard to steer though.

  • I have a green machine its really rusty though

  • This reminds me of the wild wacky action bike off of South Park lolol.

  • @Oldkt Yeah, that's what it was based on.

  • @Oldkt And just like Wild Wacky Action Bike, my brother was hit by a car when the thing skidded out into the street. Now He has hearing loss, mildly impared speach, and is socially retarded. Yeah, there's a reason they don't make em any more.

  • Riding without a helmet.....imagine that. LOL :)

  • @indyracingnut Yeah, today kids would have helmets, arm pads, elbow pads, neck braces, a back support belt and god knows what else. When I was a kid we just ate it and put some peroxide and a band-aid on it, or if we cracked our head open, we went to the hospital and got stitches. Ahh, the good old days.

  • @guyinfl99 yep. personal safety was the LAST consideration for toy selection in the 70s and even into the 80s. Lawn Darts, Big Wheels, Stunt Bikes styled after evel knievel and may other things that would never happen today. I remember a few times spent on sunday, laying on my couch or bed with an ice pack on my head, a knot under that and road rash all down an arm or leg for eating it a couple times. Almost made the jump to the neighbors yard though...

  • FOR GUYS???????? Then I must have been a guy with ovaries. Mine was grey, not green. Loved it.

  • I was jealous of all the rich kids that had one in the late 70s. Being the 7th kid in the family, I got a hand-me-down metal car to ride. But probably worth 10 times as much as the green machine today.

  • 70s toys were awesome!

  • I remember riding my Green Machine around the city streets when I was about 3 years old. There was this giant mound of loose dirt that we would ride to and then climb to the top of, and slide down- almost getting buried alive. That was when I wasn't walking along the top horizontal 2X4 of the fence that ran around the apartment complex. Or when I wasn't mixing and drinking 'potions' in old containers pulled out of the dumpster, trying to get 'super powers'. Anyone else have hippies for parents?

  • I wore my front wheel out. I loved that thing.

  • Soo awesome lol

  • That toy looked spoon awesome I want one now

  • One-upmanship starts so young,I was so happy on my Big Wheel, then a rich kid from down the street pulled up on this ,bastard.

  • @teedzy1 Those gd 1%ers.

  • @Swade3231 He had a Reagan bumper sticker on it.

  • @teedzy1 Same story here, but the rich 10 yr. old kid across the street pulled up on a Honda Odyssey go cart. Lucky bastard.

  • Dang, I remember this! I got one for Christmas and remember riding all around my neighborhood. Memories..

  • Since I was 8, I've had the "Green Machine... what a ride! Yeah!" in my head. You could get serious spins on this baby. I knew how to drive a Bobcat because of my Green Machine. Lol!

  • dude my Gram out in Buffalo's got one of these from when my dad was a kid, all my little cousins play on it haha

  • i have the other one and im gettin the turbo twist this christmas!

  • 0:15 Poor kid didnt get one (=^[

  • wow this was a souped up Big Wheel! I had the regular one with the Blue lever on the right side for spin outs.

  • I had one of those when I was a kid they where great fun back then. thanks for posting this.

  • Can't believe I am going to say this ..... " ahhhhh the good old days " . Life was good when I got my green machine. This, and my Evel Knievel little crankup toy motorcycle. I miss those pump up water rockets too.

  • @oreojeckle I grew up in the 70's too, indeed they were the good old days! Light Brite, magnetic wheels, etch a sketch, Battleship, stretch Armstrong, and of course the Green Machine, and we managed to play with these toys while Big Blue Marble was on in the morning, ha! Sure do miss it..

  • "Eight...nine...ten years old: old enough for Green Machine!" I always wondered why they were so specific with the age groups - wouldn't "Ages 8 and up" have sufficed? Or were they hinting that you couldn't ride it past age 11? (My age at the time, incidentally!) Who knows?! Thanks for the memories...

  • Ever hear of "The Red Baron"? It was a Green Machine knock-off, and I had one.

  • Is this DRIFTING?

  • I had one, noisy as hell on pavement, lol.

  • my brother would never let me ride his green machine.but I had a crazy car and a big wheel. Does anyone remember the crazy car?

  • we'd steal green machines and big wheels . tie a rope around a seat post and pull some body sitting on the toy. some times for miles. we'd keep it until the wheels were wore open and than.....

  • I remember having one of these. Wore out the rear tires from skidding to much on black top. Good times.

  • I want one! An adult size, made of aircraft aluminum, maybe with a 90cc enjine^^

  • @rann109 search for Parker Brothers Green Machine, they made one with a V-twin

  • Use to destroy big wheels with my green machine when I would smack them with my rear wheel

  • I had a Green Machine in '78, it was a blast until I skinned my shoulder!!

  • dude i have one of these o.o

  • I almost KILLED myself like 24 times on one of these! Loved it though :)

  • I remember goin down the biggest hill on my green machine towingm y friend on a skateboard LMAO no helments no pads not once did i bust my ass ....the good ole days course now if i tried that prolly break a hip LMFAO

  • I loved my Green Machine!! I used to be cool, now I got 3 screaming kids, a wife and a job! I wanna be a kid again!! Lmao

  • @eazyevan1 LOL...isn't that the truth. I always wanted one of these too.

  • I had a knock-off called "The Red Baron"... Just as fun, thou!

  • That's so freaky to see kids without helmets. I can see the concusions brewing. :o)

  • Oh my God! I totally had one of these. it was my favorite toy. I still think back on that thing. The 70's were bad ass!

  • This brings back memories. Loved my Green Machine. Got mine in '78. Next to my Sit-n-Spin and my Lite Brite, this was the best toy ever.

  • I had one when I was a kid. Best Big Wheel knockoff ever. You could pull the sticks and spin exactly as shown.

  • i have a green machine its like 8 years old it is fun the paint is all faded, but it is still working

  • when to spin your supposed to lean on the outside

  • I had a "Green machine", one day crashed it into my brother's "Big Wheel" and it fell completely apart. I mean every single piece just came apart. Never was able to put it back together. Oh well, I guess that's what happens when you have drug addicts putting together a not so complicated kids toy :(

  • It looks like Stewie's "tricked out" Big Wheel!

  • One of the few toys I specifically asked for when I was a kid.

    Green Machine! Woo!

  • That was a lot of fun.... green machine was the bentley of big wheels I also had a red machine with the yellow flag in the back.

  • SO FUCKING SICK! ifeel sorry for kids now days! How bout the stomper 4x4s?

  • My little brother got one for Christmas.. I tried for days figuring out a way to fit into it! Greatness came in one size!

  • if you didnt have this. you werent cool.

sadly i didnt have one.. i wasnt cool ;(

  • I had one of those when I was a kid , don't know what hapened 2 it . Gona look on e bay RIGHT NOW for one .

  • @FABRIC8TIONUNLIMITE1 I just got my son a green machine at kmart today. :o) and it was clearance priced!

  • this is AWESOME!!!!!

I wonder if someone could custom build one of these so it could support an adult. :D

for a nostalgia geek like me, THAT WOULD KICK ASS!!! XD

  • I remember this. lol. I wanted one but i lived in a building.

  • There was green machines in the fucking 70s!?

God, I remember my old friend had this thing, called a "Blue Machine" Or whatever, and it shot water! pretty epic.

I had one of these some time ago, I always got hurt on it!

  • This is a SALEEN or SHELBY version of the Big Wheel.

Chicks dig scars so screw the pads baby.

At night we ride through mansions of glory on suicide machines and this is the machine you wanted.

  • Throw on my Sears Toughskins then get radical on my Green Machine. Aaah the memories...

  • I had a green machine and my clothes were just as cool as those guys!!!

  • I wanted one of those but got to ride on one a few times at some gals house my dad was tappin

  • I thought the green machine was a carpet cleaning device.

  • thumbs up if you want this but your to old.....

  • This was from the days when toys were made right! Too bad Marx went out in 1980 :( But their toys live on! :D

  • we had no idea what helmets were

  • I had one....and after riding we would throw lawn darts! Good ole 70's!

  • the green machine was just a sproofed up big wheel

  • I had one of these. AH yes..the good old UNSAFE 70's.

Makes me glad i'm not Nintendo boy.

  • @danieljh The 70's really weren't that unsafe, the media is full of it. We all had a blast!

  • @danieljh I think this made a comeback.

  • Oh yeah I was a kid from the 70's! I never owned a green machine but my friend did. He let me try it and I went down a hill really fast and wiped out. I wasn't hurt too bad just some scratches and bruises. But that thing was hard to steer and very scary lol.

  • this thing is that old?? wtf that came out n early 2000s on commercial but i didnt know it originated n the 70s,, still aint nuthin beats a schwinn stingray(vintage)

  • @GrimeyTurd420 ,how would you know?, your 19, not your era

  • @Love4SK stfu it doesnt matter if its my era or not i still have the knowledge from books n my aunts uncles parents old bike collecters, fuck your statement im into bikes, YOUR NOT

  • @GrimeyTurd420 stick to your own lame era ya faggot. bieber is your god

  • @Love4SK ..........dude your an idiot.

  • GODDAMN!!! No you did not post a Green Machine commercial on here! I had this but my dad broke it the day he knocked the shit out of my mom.

  • @publica74 She probably had it coming.

  • @ZachMac209 that's not a nice comment to say, You don't know what instability his family had, that's not a stable environment with any kind of violence, I know I would have call the police or some people have brothers who would take care of a wife beater to make sure they don't do it again if the police can't get it right

  • omg grown ass men talking about green machines were better then big wheels, Lmao, how old are you guys like in your 40's? lol, shame

  • @tiana1017 OMG yes we are......We were kids long before you were even a few stains on the bed sheet...!!! Let us reminisce.

  • @biolectron well don't assume because I'm 42 going on 43 and had a big wheel

  • Comment removed

  • 8, 9, 10 years old? Yeah right. No kid that old would have been caught dead on anything less than a bike.

  • @chretiendutroyes they were using them, you could more on green machines then bikes unless of course you had bmx bikes etc

  • My friend had one that I would ride! I couldn't get one cause we were broke! Fuck!!

  • man i remember being able to do such sick skids with this thing!!

  • I had one of those! I think it was 19.99 at Walmart. Damn front wheel wore out.

  • MARTY U LEGEND!!!!

  • I love these old commericals (I was born in 78 so I missed out on that one)

  • I had a Green Machine and I wore that sucker out doing spins in the driveway...

    Green Machine POSSE....

    Big Wheels were for sissies.

  • F*ck the Big Wheel!!!

    G-Machine RULES!!!

  • I had one of these bad boys when I was a kid...Unfortunately the hollow construction of the wheels and frame made for a terrible racket when you rode this thing on concrete.

  • @HerewegoPeter Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha... Now that is some real 70s shit right there ! I know what your talking about.

  • DUDE I remember I had one back when i was a Kid!.

I remember goin down a big fucking Hill on this thing and do spinout then I make a sharp turn near the Bottom and thats how i broke my arm..................I WANNA DO IT AGAIN!!

  • Dude! Green machine used to be the ish!!!

  • what do kids play with now, I had a big wheel myself plus skateboards and bikes

  • @tiana1017 yeah same here. Now kids just play video games I think. They dont know what real fun is like we did. Glad I was a kid in the 70's.

  • I had a friend with a green machine back in the late 70's. He always kicked my ass going against my Big Wheel.

I hated that son of bitch!

  • I had one too around the late 70's...I loved mine soo much I wore holes in the front plastic wheel... I don't remember if I tried the spinouts though...Brings back memories...

  • @9000LPT as I stated on my lat post on here I used to do spinouts near the bottom of a big fucking Hill whare I lived at broke my arm but man that was fucking fun.

  • I had one of those. broke in half after it had been handed down about 5 times lol

  • the green machine was the ferrari of the toy industry

  • Green Machine was the to the Big wheel like:

    BURGER KING and MCDONALDS.

    Darth Vader to Luke Skywalker.

    Pepsi to Coke.

  • ****It was All Hype actually.I took a spin in My friend's Green Machine and it Totally sucked.Too big, heavy, and bulky. It was hard to manuever and it wasnt a smooth ride. And it had No handle bars Either.Duh.Plus,the girlies thought it was Ugly and Scary as fuck.Im a Sporty type of guy,The Original 70s Big Wheel Forever baby!!! Aka The Corvette of Big Wheels!

  • If this commercial was filmed today, the kids would have full armor on (helmets, knee pads, elbow pads, etc.). Not these 70's bad asses............

  • @erictramer That's awesome

  • @erictramer LMFAO!!! YOU RIGHT. I WAS BORN IN 72 AND I REMEMBER MY CHIN WAS MY BRAKE ONCE...OUCH. THATS HOW WE ROLLED BACK THEN. MY DAD PUT ME ON BIKE AND LET ME GO DOWN HILL

  • @erictramer lol

  • @erictramer I think most kids this age now would have their head buried in an iphone or the like.

  • @erictramer In the 70's kids wore Toughskins. Your knees will wear out before these pants will! lol

  • I had a red version of this..

  • I have one it is so fun!!!!!!!!!

  • Holy shit can we PLEASE get an adult version of this thing!

  • i had 1 of these when i was a kid & i loved it until my damn neighbor's kid stole it

  • Hells yeah! No wussy-ass helmets on THOSE kids! That's back when this country raised real men.

  • i miss being little:P I was a 90s kid so i had the Cozy Coupe car that i would i always ride in. Other kids on the block would want to ride in it too. But what i hated the most even as a 5 yr old is when other kids drove my little car and id go back in it...and it smelling of sweaty butt....how disgusting..hopefully kids in the 70s had better hygene:P

  • OK my mom has this new in a box in her basement. She said she found it when cleaning the attic. Still in unopened box

  • @NYKID10014

She should totally put that on ebay for no less than $1000

  • @Sparxe I'm going to hold on to it for a few more years. She has so many toys in mint condition it's like waking up in kid heaven 1970s, it's so cool. Pack rat mom.

  • i never had one but i had my dukes of hazzard big wheel

  • ~BEWARE!! LONG GREEN MACHINE STORY AHEAD~

Just like the 1st big wheel I had, the damn plastic tires wore out so fast&then u were hosed. So my dad, being the caring guy that he was, came up w/the brilliant idea 2slip his old riding mower tire inserts over the top of the busted wheels on my GM, &somehow heat shrunk down 2fit snug(still dont know how he did it), &VOILA! real rubber tires! of course, wat we DIDNT think about @the time, was how the physics of the>>

  • >>"skidding" part worked, lol. So naturally, I went out &looked 4the biggest hill I cud find in my neighborhood &flippin LAUNCHED myself down it. I was amazed @how much smoother &faster the thing rolled w/rubber tires on it! Probably got up to about 25-30mph at the bottom of the hill &went 2pull my 'patented' skid move(or so I thot it was@the time being a stupid kid), & um, I caught traction when I leaned into the skid(w/downhill gravity), &the thing flipped sideways like 7 times.>>

  • >>Luckily, I only did 1 lip skid, rolled, &got tossed into an iceplant embankment. Guess that means I really got bounced off the pavement facefirst but, WORST part of it was~ the entire axle assembly on the back FLEW OUT &got all f-ing BENT UP!, Lots of the plastic area around the axle exit area was shattered &NO way 2fix it. Why didnt they put REAL bushings over those damn things?! As well, the steering wheel, which I guess I was gripping like a mofo before I flipped), bent &snapped off too.>>

  • >>Well anyways, I picked up the pieces, holding back tears, but somehow also fighting the urge to laugh maniacally, and walked my bloody, scraped-up ass home. Next day I had shiners, all-over body bruises, and a nice gash my mom butterflyed on my forehead, close to my right eye. Also, it looked like somebody had glued a purple fruit roll-up, over my entire chin. It didnt even bleed that bad when I DID IT! So how in the hell it looked THAT much worse the next day, I'll never understand.>>

  • >>I got my bike that Christmas and left the Green Machine pieces in the garage. It was my wreck shrine. Somewhere, deep in the recesses of my parents garage, behind the slotted mags w/black widows living in them, the box for my dad's old 'Fish-Find'r" scanner, and the Captain &Tenille records, I know its still there. LONG LIVE THE GODDAMN GREEN MACHINE!!

  • This thing was the hardest to steer.

  • Lol, who had one of these?

  • @FA55BOO I did! It was the SH!T, too! lol

  • never got one for xmas...the closest thing i had to the green machine was...was...the big wheel :(

  • Had one too. Was great except for how sore your back got from being shoved into the plastic seat while peddling.

  • I had one of these in 1978. I was 6 in 1978, and I had one of these, and they were great!

  • Back in the 70s to a kid this toy was like owning a Suzuki GSX-R

  • i didn't really like the green machine..i liked the bigwheel better.

  • This was the ultimate back then when you were a kid. These came out right around the time Star Wars did. Everyone had Bigwheels, but if you had a Green Machine, you were like the coolest kid in the neighborhood.

  • i get a strong impression that they were marketing these Green Machines are kids.

  • I like that the kids aren't wearing helmets.

  • Cameraman shadow @ :25
