if u get any new 85 or two stroke remember to take it easy for the first couple hours and then , go get it re jetted, then when you get more money get an fmf pipe and v force reeds unless you get a ktm because they come with the harder built pipe

i like the 2 strokes :) 4 strokes can be alot of work though. harder to work on, more heavy,checking valves. i would get a kx85 but its completly up to you

My friend and I rode the same model bikes. 2004 kx100 and kx85, best damn bikes I've ever ridden. Never gave us a problem, went through hell and still started first kick every time.

2 strokes weigh less than 4 strokes, so if you're on the smaller side for your age, go with a 2 stroke. The 4 stroke has torque. So if you're in a dig and gun it you'll get the same amount of power constantly.

A 2 stroke bike will hit a power band, which is an extreme burst of speed. Do more research and decide.
