  • Comment question of the day: How many boys have you slept with?

  • Die Sonne scheint mir aus Trixies Plot

  • 1:35 sounds epic

  • wtf do you have with the word šnicel

  • Haha 9:03 rarity's having an orgasm

  • So what did you do?

    Something illegal involving space time

  • i wanna watch a godzilla movie now, but the mecha godzilla movie i watched makes me not... want to

  • @globox123456789 Thanks! My German still needs work, but it's been steadily improving. As for what Snails is saying, I can't remember his lines off the top of my head, but if there was one that you didn't hear clearly and wanted to know about, you can tell me what time it is at and I can give you the Swedish text and/or my understanding of its meaning in English (my Swedish kind of totally sucks, though).

  • @EagleofChaos12 When I went in to record Snips, I planned on using a schnitzel recipe for his lines. When I got there, though, they were all the wrong length, so I had to mix them up and chop them up (and once or twice, add more words) so they would fit with the mouth movements.

  • @killer26x I'm going to assume that I love you, too! :D :D :D

@MrLordViking I'm glad to have made your experience with this episode even nicer. :D

@Soulessbody When I went back after FiMFlam finished this episode and watched it myself, I had the same problem and ended up pausing the video to read the subtitles. XD

@DasBeda We're all about improving the cooking skills of the viewers. :D

  • Wow, Snip's pronounciation is good! But what is Snails saying? Smörrebröd?

  • lol, Trixie Krueger

  • Poor baby slave spike.

  • Best Trixie ever

  • you know, 1:45 actually sounds like it would be fun to watch

  • Coming from austria and speaking german made this twice as funny.. And I learned how to cook a "Schnitzel"

  • well this is atleast funny...mabye haters will watch this and start liking the show <.<

  • i am the great, i am the powerfull, i. am. BATMAN.

  • I love Trixie, but I think Boast Busters should have been more like this episode. At least the Mane Cast remain more in character here than they did in that episode...

  • That german was so funny, but so inaccurate.

  • @EagleofChaos12 I recall them saying something about potatoes to Spike.

  • I have no idea what just happened. But it was hilarious.

  • i can't read what the little fat retards says because i actually understand german and it breaks my concentration when he talks about a schnitzel recipe!

  • well... as much as i suck at german i can still tell your not saying the right things =P

  • My Little Pony Peter Pan Darth Vader on ice.

    Genius!

  • o.o Peter Pan... exactly like Darth Vader... I wanna see that now, SOMEPONY MAKE THIS!!!!

  • SMÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖR

  • I'm Swedish. I understood what the "Town Retards" were saying. :D

  • even her parents death was dramatic

  • a german schnitzel recipe! WTFLOL!!!

  • I just realized that at 1:38 he is making fun of his own experiences on the old abridged show

  • Because I'm the Batman....I mean Trixie.

  • I actually prefer watching this to the actual episode. Mostly because I can't stand Snips, Snails or whatever the hell they bring to the series.

  • Batmare Trixie is what really won me over to this abridged series.

  • 4:33

    doctor whooves is like

    dat flank

  • Använd inte färskpotatis!

  • @xplson jag föredrar pie

  • Love how Trixie occasionally slips into a Seth Rogan voice

  • I love how fast paced this episode is.

  • You have greatly improved on every character. I mainly like Spike, Trixie, Twilight, Pinkie, and the minor "meep" characters. ME MUCHO GUSTA

  • Trixie is BATMARE!

  • Trixie seems familiar to me some how.

  • I love how Snips lines are a german cooking recipe. Actually pretty good german pronunciation.

Too bad I don´t understand swedish, Snails lines were probably hilarious too^^

  • @lagg1e I'm just glad that you understood Snips at all. XD My accent is on the worse end of the scale compared with my classmates... but I haven't had an opportunity to study abroad yet, so hopefully it will still improve. ^^

  • You might want to try a more readable colour for subtitles.

  • ZWIEBELN UND KARTOFFELN

I guess they have a thing for onions and potatoes.

  • Music, please?

  • is trixie batman?

  • YAY! SWEDISH! My life is complet.

  • It is pretty ironic that Snips and Snails sound like girls and Trixie sounds like a boy.

  • @EmperorJewel That's the joke. omo

  • I love how you used Godzilla's roar for the Ursa XD

  • the things Snails say has nothing to do with anything, he just keeps talking about "Smör" wich is "Butter" in English xD

  • I wonder what it would FEEL like to be captured by the towns retards:D

  • Can you please give me the music?

  • I love this music!

  • Snips is saying parts of a recipe for Wiener Schnitzel in German.

  • @MaxDeriPodUser Jawohl. ^^

  • This cartoon is relevant to my special needs.

  • "So this like the whole show?"

    "NOOOOOOOO"

  • Best episode yet! Though Spike going in and out of accent is hilarious, I wonder if this was an accident.

  • Smör! De e fan gött de!

  • The fact that I understand German makes this more hilarious.

  • @BilalWasHere The only thing I can say is that Spike said "I don't speak Russian" when he broke into conversation with Snips and Snails.

  • SPACEBEAR!

I just love how you twist this whole episode into something completly different.

  • So can anyone translate snips & snails lines? Ever since he said "shnitzel" and spike said he got hungry after talking to them....I guessed they were just naming foods...Or something. Can someone get me the translatedness? Thanks.

  • That's not fair! I was drinking water when Trixie started talking and I almost died! XD

  • Ich habe Hunger...

  • 05:26 Smör. Smööööör.... <3

Ironically (intentionally?), 'Smöra' is swedish slang for sucking up to someone.

  • SPIKE WAS ABDUCTED BY THE DUTCH!!!

  • I HATE DRAMA CRITICS!!!! *BOOM*

  • so... is Trixie supposed to be Christian bale?

  • Darth Tinkerbell.

Twilight is kinda Spike's mom; surprised you didn't make jokes about that. Well, unless this post predated that flashback episode.

  • 4:42 Is Snails describing how to make Janssons frestelse (Jansson's temptation)?

  • @HyoureiKyouran He absolutely is. The recipe is in a textbook I have for my Swedish class -- I just used a bunch of lines from it. XD

  • You have gotten way better since the beginning ones! I'm so glad you kept it up!

  • This is the best one yet. Oh god. XD

  • @ResettisReplicas : Idk what he has in mind for specific characters, but I'm appearing as a voice in at least one more ep (recorded, not uploaded yet). ^_^

@lemonsyay, @Isoscelescube : I'm majoring in German at my uni; of course I know the lines didn't match up with the subs, but they did actually say things (some of them, at least) -- of that I'm quite sure.

If you're interested in the secret of Snips' lines, though -- I googled a Wiener Schnitzel recipe; his lines are based on that. ^_^

  • Eh... I speak German, and unless whatever language they were speaking used German food words as regular nouns, they weren't saying what the subtitles were saying.

  • swedish cooking show or what? some words are same to german.

  • Trixie's voice is win!

  • Your abridged is about 144% cooler than the other one (that's 20% cooler, squared).

I completely support your cause - they're quite arrogant claiming to be the authority on the "Elements of Parody" when theirs isn't all that funny.

  • Im The Great and Powerful Batmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!

  • I already like this trixie better than the one on the actual show. lol

  • I almost died when Trixie spoke. Holy shit that was funny!

  • Shouldn't you just love and tolerate the other abridged lot, rather than sniping?

  • the other voice actor did a good job

  • What is this 'keyboard' of which Snips and Snails speak?

  • 1:11yayyyyyyy

  • Trixxie is clearly an attention whore who feels the need to validate her existence with the attention of others, even if she comes across as a bitch while doing it.

  • så det behövs inte lol i <3 being swe

  • 6:12 I Agree with snips XD

  • Trixi is so awsome in this...

    adleast 20% cooler!

  • I got an A in German and all I understood was "potato".

  • @lemonsyay1 KARTOFFEL!

  • trixie is batman

  • space bear lol, i fell of the chair

  • I'll be honest, when I first saw your videos of the ponies I thought "Damn dis dumb" but as I continued on watching I was very surprised how funny this stuff is! Thank you so much for making these, I really like them and hope to see more!

  • The're idiots thats for sure, and i was only refering to the snips and snails in this MA version not the actual cartoon Btw

  • seriously? Nun panieren sie die Schnitzel.

Das traditionelle Wiener Schnitzel wird immer mit Kalbsfleisch zubereitet???

    Thats a fucking german cookshow!!!!!!

  • @Schlachtoros Yep, I found a Wiener Schnitzel recipe and used it as the basis for Snips' lines. :D

  • @SpottableBus Will you return if FIMFlam parodies The Show Stoppers? Or even sneak in a few lins of dialogue in an episode where they appear but have no lines?

  • @SpottableBus And for that, I love you.

  • ... how are they clapping?

  • What that swedish?

  • Love Lessons with The Great and Powerful Trixie

    I'd watch it

  • WHY DOES HE KEEP TALKING ABOUT SCHNITZEL!?!?

  • lol at the ending "my house is on fire where is the bathroom"

  • "Is that Your new stage voice?! You sound like your gargling Marbles!"

  • This made me happy. So happy.

  • "But...there's a freakin' space bear!"

    I died.

  • For some reason, I love dash :b

And oddly enough, the voices you make for the different ponies fit them REALLY well :....

  • Ok, so I really love Peter Pan on Ice, so I'm going to do a parody of peter Pan on Ice, but every character is Darth Vader. That's the hook. But because I love the show, I really want to stay true to the characters. So I'm going to be holding open auditions to look for people who are exactly like Peter Pan, if he were Darth Vader. Note this, I'm a good actor but I only sound kind of like Peter Pan who is Darth Vader. I need EXACTLY like the character. Also everyone gets to write.

  • @kefkaexdeath she said "not this, im a good actor but i sound kind of like peter pan who is darth vader" meaning the actor talking about not being exactly like peter pan being darth vader or at least thats how i interpreted it

  • Space bear sounds like Godzilla X3

  • "What is going on here? First Bubblegum Dancer stood here then I stood next to her then some other ponies stood next to me and now the whole town is here OH MY GOD SOMETHING'S HAPPENING"

    XD

  • love the random swedish words and translations :D

  • använd inte färsk potatis? dont use fresh potatoes. ur translation was a teeny tiny bit off :P

  • @satlom The girl who made the dubs are part german and she reads swedish at college. She went to school with the creator of this abridged series, so she got some parts. I got in contact with her after she commented on me saying something similar as you posted. I help her sometimes with her swedish. ^^

  • did you make Snips and Snails speak in German recopies due to their uncanny resemblance ti Max and Moritz?

  • So what lananues were those dudes speaking?

  • @AntonyBlalock Swedish and i think German.

And the subtitles wasn't what they were really saying at all.

For example at 0:10 Snails said "DON'T USE FRESH POTATOES!"

  • well at least now I know how to make a Schnitzel...

  • I just noticed that MLP is WAY more conductive to abridging then anime, there's a lot more expressions to work with. Anime abridging is just a bunch of still shots with lip flapping.

  • Ok, Snail's lines really ruins it for me...

Hearing weird cooking instructions in Swedish mispronounced in a brutal way confuses me, a lot. What's the fuss about butter anyway?

  • @someonep93 I think that's the joke...

  • @sterlingdragon123 What I mean is: it's totally weird if you actually understand what is being said (which I do).

Snips' lines doesn't bother me as much, as I don't understand much German.

  • @someonep93 That's the joke, clearly. Sort of a bilingual bonus.

  • @sterlingdragon123 So...I should feel privileged for being bilingual and thus becoming utterly confused? Sure, I can buy that. :P

  • @someonep93 Perhaps. It's simply a silly joke you will only get if you're multilingual.

  • @someonep93 Heh, I really am sorry my if lines confused you and, as I've said here a few times before (because I can't emphasize this enough), I apologize for my accent; I've only studied Swedish for one academic year (9 ~ 10 months or so); as you can probably imagine, I still have a hard time speaking quickly or with any specific feeling. XD

But, well, that IS the joke. (^^,) And, as you may have gathered, the German lines were also taken from a recipe.

  • @SpottableBus Well, for having studied it for less than a year, very impressive! Speed of talking and transmitting a feeling while talking comes with experience, so as long as you continue to use the language your skills will increase.

And yeah, I understood enough of the German to understand it was a recipe.

Just to clarify: the main confusion was because the lines were so random and out of context. Your accent just made it a bit more random. ;)

  • @someonep93 Yea, it really makes absolutely no sense... Everything was completely out of order, too. The lines weren't long/short enough most of the time for me to keep any parts of the recipes in order... Not that it would have made much more sense if I had, although it might have lessened the confusion a little bit. :\

  • @SpottableBus

Wow that sounds like a really crazy experience! Are you going to have a character speak in Korean? Cuz I'm Korean. I wanna read English subtitles while hearing someone speak in an accented Korean and talking about a food recipe while another character speaks in some other language I might barely know like Spanish and is also talking about another completely random topic like how to make some kind of food. In fact: Just make me voice act it. I mean...What the hell am I doing.

  • @jongyon7192p

Hmm.. You know, I'm not sure if I could get through an entire character's worth of lines in Korean. I can read Korean text phonetically, but I don't actually know what most of it means (I only know a few words and phrases).

But if I were to voice anyone else in a non-English language it would probably be Japanese, since that is the other (and the only non-Germanic) language that I speak. But I'm not sure that would ever even happen. XD

  • @someonep93 What does Snails say? I speak german, but no, I guess, swedish

  • @lagg1e It's a recipe, just like the German lines.

  • So snips and snails were speaking german, and at 6:17, Spike tells them in russian, that he doesn't speak russian. Lol

  • @vladnuke Snails was speaking swedish but Snips was german.

  • Wow, Snails speaks my native language :D SpottableBus is pretty good.

  • @TrueVerity In that case, I apologize for my horrible, horrible accent. (^_^) But I'm glad you enjoyed it. :D :D :D

  • @SpottableBus Aw, I don't think it's horrible.

I found this via TV Tropes and was surprised when I heard Swedish, since according to the page, the boys would both speak German. I went and changed it today :)

  • These just keep getting better and better! Are you going to have Sweetie Bell in any episodes though? You don't have to include the other CMC, just Sweetie Bell.

  • Fuck. That godzilla roar STILL makes me shudder.
