Add the factor that using muscles causes rip in the muscles (which a living persons body repairs, while a zombies body would not) and you have short "lifespans" huzzah for mortician knowledge!

as far as the Romero movies go, their remakes cannot compare, however, come on! Dawn of the Dead was by far the best of the remakes! and though Romero's version is better, i'm still fine with watching this one.

i would try to do the following: 1. get to a walmart store stock up on any long blunt objects(i prefer golf clubs or aluminum basebal bats) 2. find a small CVS to hold up(for food and drugs and other meds) 3. keeping a strong bike(keeping a a pump and repair kit with it)

also you can be cured from being infected, like in I am Legend/Omega Man, zombies cannot be returned to life unless some almost divine process can revert permanent brain damage due to necrosis. Its actually kind of funny to think about fictional concepts like this so logically. Like in the Walking Dead, they show a video MRI of the process of the human dying, no brain activity, then it like reboots but is all different and chaotic. I think we would be prepared with all these movies.

did u not watch quarantine, or the original REC? that was the first film to transcend the two definitions of zombies, looking at demonic possession as both an infection and a supernatural phenomenon. Anyway, i dont think there is a diff b/w infected and zombies. I just classify them into the category or spiritual or biological. Spiritual zombies will stay alive, even when you shoot them in the head, because they are reanimated through supernatural means. The other kind is merely biological.

2004 dawn of the dead was a good remake, shut up. the 28 days later movie was kind of stupid, you think walking around if your already dead is stupid, even know the human body rotts in a matter of years, i think changing a mind set of a person from 10 to 20 seconds is far out. so if something were to be driving the "undead" there muscles would still work and they would be able to run due to the freashness of there remains, but after all both there ideas are stupid as a reality.

Since they would be newly dead all the muscle would be intact unless damaged before hand. Eventually they would become crawlers and shamblers but who is to say that zombies cant run?

The physical traits of a zombie would still be their for awhile, a zombie could run at first, will be strong, etc etc, due to slowed decay that the muscles are still their and functioning. That, and I personally believe their already are zombies, Voodoo has been in that area for awhile now. I live by the ocean, I'd get weapons, survivors, and head to the local Yacht club and make it a home base or so to speak.

i would try to do the following: 1. get to a walmart store stock up on any long blunt objects(i prefer golf clubs or aluminum basebal bats) 2. find a small CVS to hold up(for food and drugs and other meds) 3. keeping a strong bike(keeping a a pump and repair kit with it)

And heres my advice to surviving both scenarios:
Zombies: You could probably crawl faster then them, if your running away from one and encounter a horde, then turn around and simply walk past the original one, they are useless.
Infected: Walk up tesco, by a shit load of pills, and pop them all at once, chances are you are going to die, so might aswell die peacefully, or just find a gun and pop yourself in the head... your one less infected for someone else to deal with. :)

Or maybe a current virus will mutate into a zombie virus (or more likely infected). :)

@blythe025 well blythe, with zombies, since u mention zombies only have certain functions remaining, they're controlled to eat something fresh and not dead, which leads to they're sense of smell, hearing and sight. since the brain is still partially alive, it only has a certain amount of sense to focus on, and they depend on smell, so they have an easier time smelling from about 100 yards but not so far when theres a door between you. and depended on how new they are, they can slow jog at a pace

@blythe025 but if u rub they're guts on a suit and gloves so u don't touch the infected stuff and absorb it, you can walking around limping and moaning and they'll fall for it, and when it rains, they scent washes off, and when you can tell, they'll start observing you and growling. and if you don't do 1 thing like moaning or limping together, they begin to walk to you so they can study you. if you do something they do not "accept" they will attack.

@MorphingTiger Or they might think they found the cure for something like AIDS, cancer, or diabetes, give it to the public and then they turn into zombies

Well, when someone dies, the brain cells die asoon as you die, with no brain cells, it has to no brain function, so the brain can't move any muscle or bone, so the Zombies would just be able to to stare into random space, but not move, not even blink,.. so its more likely the Infected is mostly going to happen.
