How I remember this scene. My grandfather was a keen railway man and loved engineering so we were always taking trips out from Edinburgh to view progress on the new road bridge. Thank you for this clip.
I live in the Ferry, see these almost every day. It's a shame all the construction is now going, and there thinking of closing the Forth Road Bridge and make a new one, due to safety and structure.
Thanks for the post, I'm replying very late (1year) but this is something I came across, and I want to thank you.
The forth Road Bridge isn't going to close any time soon. They did all the tests and say there's no problem for it to continue for is planned design life of over 100 years. Its also now a Catagory A listed structure which means you can't just pull it down. There will be a new Bridge but the old one will still be needed.
I like the metal bridges.
