You also throw out of balance the CO2 and pollutant absorbtions of that area, as the tree would otherwise have been cleaning the air and purifying things, and you alter the water absorbtion rates too, as the trees contribute to soaking up and holding groundstores. One tree does make a difference.

@fraroc - no they don't. If you leave them alone after cutting them - and they are still alive - then they will grow back, in that they will re-commence growing. But they will never ever grow back to the same shape and so forth that they were before.
Is it not obvious that a tree grows its branches etc depending upon the location it is in, eg so that it is balanced properly with correct equilibrium for the winds known to occur in that location? Why do you think they tend to grow so slowly?

@fraroc - also when you remove a tree or reduce it, you are also removing the habitat of many animals, and those animals all make important contributions to the ecosystem. So you upset all that too. You also throw out of balance the CO2 and pollutant absorbtions of that area, as the tree would otherwise have been cleaning the air and purifying things, and you alter the water absorbtion rates too, as the trees contribute to soaking up and holding groundstores. One tree does make a difference.

@fraroc - and to restore even just one trees fucntions and contributions, you need to re-plant another of the same type - and then wait 40 - 60 years before it reaches the stature of the one you just killed.
You do realise that - if you plant a tree, of just baout every species this applies to - it won't reach any kind of maturity until you're about an OAP. Why do you think proper instructions on utilising them describe taking branches or cuttings etc with great care in the selection of them?

Realistically, how many people will also require drumsticks in addition to things we all need like a fork and spoons and a bowl etc? They're not going to need much resources. And it is possible to be a herder or otherwise have utilised animals in respectful ways, where it's not ignored that they have souls and are still present in anything made from them.
