It was probably taken on a beach on the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand.

Probably several kilometers north of Raglan. Raglan is famous for the surfing. A lot of pilots land on these beaches, collect mussels and then fly back to their home strips.

A similar beach was used to film the movie, "The Piano", which won an Oscar.

much like a big wheel beaver landing on an esker, (gravel bar) in the Artic. ,, very nice stol. you could put your kite down nearly anywhere in the North.
