  • my earlier comment was misunderstood yes Dickie Betts is still alive

however one of rocks greatest vocalist Danny Joe Brown died due to problem with diabetes

  • too bad Greg Allman turned out to be a rat (snitch) but that aside Danny Joe Brown does this tune justice. DJB one of rocks truly great vocalist. what a voice! He is genuinely missed by his fans and may he RIP. WHEREVER HE IS I KNOW HE'S SINGIN' HIS ASS OFF!

  • Welcome to Southern Rock

  • saw them live last year at coconut fest

    2010 year was foghat

best 5 bucks i ever spent

  • 7:09 sucks ass...

  • @ptm5150, yeah a VERY CUTE girl's ass

  • @dave4248 7:09 sucks a cute girls ass? What does that even mean? Please tell me you are not as stupid mscottc1964...

  • @ptm5150, I guess I am as stupid as him, .......'cause I like this song. BTW, you curse alot.

  • @dave4248 I love this song but somehow you just don't get it, and try to talk shit by making dumbass statements like, "yeah a VERY CUTE girls ass." which means??? You were too stupid to understand the song ends at 7:09 and that I don't like it when it ends, holy shit, I dont want it stop, HELLO??? ...and yeah I curse a lot (two words) because stupid mother fuckers like you talk shit to people like me for no fucking reason, which is exactly what you did, so you deserve an earful...

  • @ptm5150, first you say "this is one of the sickest cover tunes ever produced" then you say "I love this song" Which is it? Are you schizophrenic?

  • @dave4248 Apparently you don't know that this is an Allman brothers tune written by Gregg Allman himself; and apparently you don't speak English. Molly Hatchet is "covering" this tune, and its sick, and you agree with me that its badass, so why the fuck are you still arguing with me? Face it man, you starting talking shit to me for no reason and if you haven't realized that by now, well sir, I am afraid you cannot be helped. So, no I'm not schizophrenic your just a dumbass, a colossal dumbass

  • @ptm5150 It is not taht he doesn't speak English...it's that he doesn't speak STREET English. Clearly, he doesn't understand that in the modern parlance, the term "sick" means MOST EXCELLENT and is more synonomous with the term "BAD ASS" than the dictionary definition with which dave4248 seems to be most familiar.

Lighten up both of youse and enjoy the tunes. I am sure burytheneedle posted it for people to find COMMON GROUND, not partake of the vitriole of the day.

  • @cyberties Why did you write me? This issue has been over for a few weeks, so why the fuck are you bringing it up again? Why the fuck are promoting political correctness? What the fuck do you have against free speech? Why use the word vitriol if you don't know how to spell it? My advice to you: shut your god damned mouth and mind your own fucking business...

  • @ptm5150 Dude...why the nasty attitude? Can't you be civil and refrain from the use of the "F" word? It only serves to define the level of your ignorance. It's not about being "politically correct" since we weren't discussing politics or anything remotely political. People who use these forums to spout their political diatribes,or just get nasty with people for trying to enlighten them, need to get a life. What's your real name? Jerad Loughner?

  • @dave4248 not speaking for ptm, but "sick" means "great" now. He's complimenting it. ;-) Peace, people!

  • @ptm5150 Yeah, go back to your Justin Bieber music

  • @ptm5150 just go back to you Justin Bieber video and leave those with class and taste here alone

  • @mscottc1964 God damn, you are as dumb as the come. Let me spell it out for you. When I say the 7:09 sucks ass? That's my way of saying it sucks ass when the music stops, because this is one of the sickest cover tunes ever produced. Do you understand now? That was a painfully stupid mistake on your part. I don't even know who the fuck Justin Bieber is, but thanks to your dumbass I do now, so what the fuck does that say about you?

  • @ptm5150 A rational interpretation of your post "sucks ass" is negative, but clearly from your angry, hateful rant rational thinking is beyond your meager social skills and maturity. Sorry the Justin Bieber fan club rejected your numerous applications, and that your career at McDonalds stalled out at fries. Your response showed your level of class - ZERO. P.S. 3 Words - Anger Management Classes. P.S.S. No thanks, don't want fries with that.

  • @mscottc1964 LOL Now this is VERY FUNNY! Thanks for the laughs,Maybe some time I can return the favor.

  • @mscottc1964 awesome

  • Love it

  • Never knew this awesome song was written by Greg Allman, wow.

    R.I.P. Danny Joe Brown

  • Truly amazing song...

  • Saw a band called Albert Taylor Group in southwest Ohio back in the late 70's play this so good! Sounded like Molly! Very good memories!!!

  • Thanks Rick ! PC, NASC 1981 !!

  • I grew up in Florida and have seen Molly Hatchet a few times. They are a great Southern Rock band. Danny Joe Brown (now deceased) was a great vocalist with his gutteral voice. "Gator Country", "Bounty Hunter", and "The Creeper" are all good songs from this same album. I have it and listen to it often.

  • is it wrong that im turning 23 nov 21st and i love this era of music??...to me this is great garage music brother man

  • @Gudanks No, it just means that you have an ear for good music, regardless of fads and trends - past or present. A good song is like a national anthem: no matter how old it is, or how old you are, or how many times you hear it, it still resonates in you soul and just makes you feel good inside. Cheers.

  • this band got looked over cause there was so many great bands at this time , i mean look skynyrd rossington collinsband neil young ect and so on but truely all time great bands here

  • this band was so underated

  • Use to spend a lot of time hanging out at an older friend's house after school. He was the town music/pot head. He knew his smoke and knew his music too. His parents had an old house that sat out back behind their newer one. They let him move into it when he was 15. He decorated his walls with old album covers and huge music posters. Smoked quite a few fatties while hanging out and listening to Hatchet with him. Good memories!

  • one of the best songs ever.

  • What is this album called? I think it might be my favorite!

  • @Kizales

The album was called "Molly Hatchet"

  • @CrashCradLaJunta oh its the self titeld, ok. thx

  • Molly Hatchet was the first concert I ever went to about 1980. It was at the CU event center and Jethro Tull was the band they backed up in Boulder Colorado. MH was amazing and out did Ian Anderson. I met everyone in the band earlier in the day and got all of their autographs with my buddy Gigot on the Pearl Street Mall in front of Independent Records. Molly Hatchet's debut album is only comparable to Boston's debut. This is the music we listen to when we ski in Colorado.

  • @CrashCradLaJunta i got my dreams to remember

  • From one of my best buddies- thanks I needed that

  • @Burythneedle Wow never knew that!! thanks!!

  • Saw these guys in a bar in Anchorage, Alaska. It was great!! Sitting at a table in front of the stage. Great show!!

  • i heard this version before i heard the allman brothers but i love both of them.

  • @Burythneedle : Okay. '69 for the Allman Brothers, and '78 for MH. Very similar sound between the two groups. Thanks for the information.

  • The posting down there is 100% right.

  • When was this song released? Anyone know?

  • @terrafirma91 1979

  • @TheWarlock365 : '79. Okay, thanks for the info.

  • @terrafirma91 Well I know that The Allman Bros. Band Wrote this song in 1969, but I'm not quite sure when Molly Hatchet covered it, it sounds early to mid-1970's... if i had to guess...

  • I heard this today on the radio and recognized it immediately! Haven't heard this particular hit of theirs in years. They usually play Gator Country or Flirtin With Disaster, so it was really nice to hear this. And thanks to you for posting this so I could hear it again. :)

  • One great tune. Jax Beach 1978...was looking for Blackfoot!

  • I SAW MOLLY HATCHET AT CHICAGO FEST ONE YEAR WITH SEVERAL OTHER GREAT BANDS , THIS SONG HERE AT THAT TIME WAS ONE OF THE BIGGEST HITS THAT EVER PLAYED ON THE RADIO DURING THE SEVENTIES, GOD DOES IT BRING BACK SOME WILD MEOMORIES, AND A VERY FOXY CHICK I WAS WITH, WE WERE COOKIN AT THIS CONCERT....... ENJOY IT DON'T GET MUCH BETTER

  • i love that album cover

  • Loved this song since I first heard it, seen them play it three times live once in each decade.

I think we all have a mountian to climb to find ourselves then we come back full of renewed strength and focus and kick some ass.

    rock on!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Molly Hatchet........Dam right-Molly Hatchet.....Southern Rock Kick ass

  • Amy, Leah, Eric, Jane, Maurella, Barbara, Becky, Avery, Kim, Sue.....Pulled myself together, climb down from the hilltop to all of you. Love all you.

  • Love this version. For whatever reason, I always thought the Allman Brothers' version too slow on tempo, but Hatchet's version got it right.

  • nevermind...finally came up! thanks for the post!!!

  • where is the thumbnail for Facebook???

  • One of the most underrated, underplayed classics of all time. But that's what keeps it so good all these years.

  • Gregg Allman and the bad boys of Jacksonville, FLA. what a winning combination, kicks ass!

  • @Templar4Ever Allman was not a member of Molley Hatchet.....nor was he from Jacksonville...

  • @evensteven300k ooopsss....he did write this song.....I never knew that.....no wonder i've always liked this tune...

  • @Templar4Ever wish I could find a good quality Allman's Dreams video on YouTube. Although I like Molly Hatchet's cover.

  • Seven minutes of Heaven.

  • @Templar4Ever - Totally agree... what a beautiful song to drive to..
