  • if the oil pressure gauge line has to gauge, u will loose pressure through it??

    wont u?

its cool u get cheap V8's but savour them as it wont be too long before all this kind of fun ceases as only more modern stuff gets broken.

  • @tpvalley no as for lost oil pressure with that line open , it will maybe make 1-2 psi. decrease it it , that engine has 90 psi. cold , I built that engine lol

  • thats exactly what i need a 302..to bad you live so far i would buy it!!

  • If it kept runnin' I figured they'd start throwin' it around playin' hot patatah.

  • its a ford men it will always start :)

  • @FORD427W be sure and subscribe , and check out the other start of that engine with the oil geyser lol , it is funny , and no it did not hurt the engine lol

  • what carb was that you had on that engine I know it was a 4 barrel

  • @TheSpartan2235 holley 670 street avenger

  • SWEET!

  • I hit the like button just for the jumper cables and battery charger, even before it started.

  • @matts4290 lol , keep going , I did it again with a crowbar , and a oil geyser lol

  • nice, that engine rocks

  • cant kill a real ford!

  • nice vid i subed

  • cool video i subed up

  • @fpvshitsonhsv thanks!

  • I love Fords, that sure is a tough motor.

  • ``my beers froze`` instantly shit my self when he said that ahahh

  • GIT R DUN! lol I am working on a 1986 F150 302

  • I was always told that revving an engine that's just been started after a long period standing is not a good idea because oil has yet to be adequately pumped to the cylinders and head... is this incorrect?

  • @2000jago a rev over 1500 rpm is bad before at least 30 seconds , this start was actually the second start of this engine too , we were not going to video it , if it would not start lol

  • @towrecker OK, gotcha. I always cringe when I hear people winding and winding a motor till it starts and the moment it does, they put the pedal flat and rev it to death in an attempt to "warm it up". Glad to know that it's not ME who's the idiot.

  • thats a cold start, facinateing to me all the hillbilly riging you will never get burned on an engine purchase, you will find a way to start it if it will start.

  • @MrBlueroads yup , and for some odd reason , I like running them out of a car lol

  • @towrecker how long can you run one without water?

  • @MrBlueroads about 2 min

  • @towrecker our car club a had a 1990s car chevy or toyata just a 2 door hatchback piece of crap, we ran it with out radiator, ran 15 minutes 36 seconds, in plus 20 weather when she went valve cover blew right off oil pan dropped out and piston went through the block.

  • @salsa1034 well that 5.0 would I bet go that long , but killing it , is not in my plans , keeping it running is , a couple of couple min runs a year is all it gets , just to keep it from freezing up or sticking a valve ...

  • Thats gotta be loud. Sounds like a strong runner!

  • @More350Power that engine is to go in my dads 70 pickup , been lazy and haven't done it yet , that 302 only has like 15,000 miles on it , I rolled the ranger 4x4 it was in , in the snow years ago now , I loved that little truck lol

  • It looks funny to see engines run outside a car.

  • That was awesome!! I'm goin to follow your method and strat up an old 429 I have in a trailer. It was seized but just freed it up.

  • @firelake1942 pull the distributer , and run the oil pump first !!!!!! you don't wanna kill it , and if it was stuck , that engine has for sure set along time , add new oil , a quart of rislone oil additive , stuff a garden hose in the water neck , and run the old beast at like 1500 for 20 min to make sure the oil splashes the cam , and it should live again without probs ....

  • Thats So badass! Everyone here thinks Im crazy when I tell em thats how we do it...why put the damn thing in first before you try it out...right? Sorry for blowing up the comments, I just found your channel tonight...and am very intrigued!

  • You cannot and nobody ever will, kill a ford truck or a ford motor, this is great, put it up in that 70' she'll fit good

  • @TheYzrider94; I can vouch for that. I had a 351M in a '79 Bronco that ran with 2 burnt valves and a spun rod bearing. That was about 11 years ago. I rebuilt it and made a 400 out of it (I got a 400 crank cheap) and it's been running ever since.

  • @TheYzrider94 You've obviously never owned a Cleveland engine.

  • you got eh 79 ford Truck or bronco ? love them

  • Nice...!!!! :D

  • I'd say that'll clean up and go in nicely!, sounds good too with the short pipes :D

  • @Aussie50 with any luck this engine will be in a 1970 ford pickup this weekend ;)
