i may be mistaken here and i dont think im the first to point this out but i think when it says "the old guards are gone" i think its "the old gods are gone". at least that makes sense to me but its a great video and i love the song. Rise against has some of the most profound meanings in their songs

I think halfway through the album it turns into a concept album, almost. The first half is about the world's problems, what we wont do. The second half, starting with A Gentlemens Coup is almost concept album like, as if they tried to take over to fix the problems with violence and it made it worse. This is the last song, as if it all is now completely over, they realized they shouldnt have used violence and now the world's dead.

@Tischdecke Except the lyrics aren't always correct. On their album Appeal to Reason I hear different lyrics to those in the booklet. Plus, in Trivium's album Ascendancy on the song Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr there is a line saying "...allowing, our king, to spread his genocidal wings..." in the booklet, but after 30 or so times listening to that line I have never heard anything like that. Booklets arent always correct, cuz the bands dont write them.

However (on a totally separate note), if we were to drill in Alaska we could have around 90-100 years of fuel. People don't want to do this right? But, think what bounds we could make in 100 years in the areas such as alternative fuel. Once we do not need oil, we can stop drilling into the environment and we can let Earth's natural cycle flow.
