  • @ila20StevieWonder No worries......Adverb: Where or approximately where: "whereabouts do you come from?".

Noun: The place where someone or something is: "his whereabouts remain secret....The theme of this song is one trying to find one's self when in Love or out of Love...

  • I met Stevie Wonder and gave him a demo of my music. My ideas were all over this album, not even the good ones. This was around the time that he got sued for I Just Called. I love Stevie anyway.

  • I think Kadeem Harrison said it best. If anybody said they have a favorite Stevie Wonder is lying. Because there's too many of them. He is a true genius.

  • @harvedogx21 Words cannot be any truer.

  • Oh God!!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SONG! I CRY RIGHT NOW.. I'VE LOVED THIS SONG SINCE I WAS A LITTLE GIRL... I WOULD REWIND AND WRITE DOWN ALL THE WORDS, AND THEN SING THE SONG OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I THIOUGHT THE SONG WENT "my way of love is somewhere in yesterday with you"..lol.. but my whereabouts is just as beautiful... I love Stevie!!!

  • The firdt I have heard this song was back in 1987. My brother brought the album with him from the UK. I listed to this album over and over again when I needed time to myself. I am also a singer and he is one my inspiration . I know the whole album. I have never heard it played on the radio since I moved from Jamaica to the USA. Stevie is so amazing!!!!!!!!!

  • Serendipitously, I clicked the tab for this song, and found that it's the song that plays in my head, from time to time. I didn't know the title. Thanks! I hadn't heard this song since I was in elementary school, and now that I'm old enough to appreciate the lyrics, I love it even more than I did, then.

  • It's amazing how a song can speak your heart (but I guess that what makes Stevie-'Stevie'!) Have this album on vinyl.

  • Who else can produce, and that within the bounds of popular song, such a bold harmonic utterance while steadfastly retaining the fundamental attributes required by the form (economy & hooks)? With childlike simplicity of line he doth groove across the landscape, attaining to and apprehending that which is seldom heard and almost never felt, the "accidental" structures of the inner-ear's longing, that we, the fortunate audience, may relish the sweet intensity thereof and dance thereabout.

  • @skybendu I gues that was the Albert Einstein interpretation of that song?Where i can appreciate your articulate slew of euphemisms to describe it.I thinks it's a bit of overkill. If you like it,you like it.

  • @skybendu yea i agree with what you said. I am very proud I am able to understand it too.

  • Great song...I´m looking for the sheet...does anyone have it?

  • This is one of my favorite songs on teh album. I love Stevie man!!!!

  • For my Papa....who searches for the love he lost....my mom...

  • I posted Whereabouts back in 2007, but was asked to delete by Youtube because of copyright violation !!...How comes yours is still on for a year now !?

  • They never ask you to delete it, they just make it unavailable. So I just left it there. Then earlier last year Google and UMG reached a deal on creating a new site and all the sudden all the videos they previously blocked became available again. So even though I added it a year ago it hasn't been available the whole time. I recently got a bunch of other WMG videos back as well. So when something gets removed I wouldn't delete it, keep it, you never know when you'll get it back.

  • Thanks Johnnie for the tips !!

  • @BobsArtGallery these record labels be too greedy. all people doing is putting songs up to listen too thats all they act like we affecting they business if anything its helping them.

  • @BobsArtGallery i love is stive

  • this is when music had substance and meaning!

  • I used to jam to this with my father when I was only 5..and still til this day..This is my favorite album. Stevie set the bar so high that even artists today can't even match this. The music today is ok but back in the 60's, 70's and 80's and early 90's that was music

  • So 80s. . . .Everytime i think about '85 the 1985 Chicago Bears came on my mind for some even reason. lol

  • @ Rucks90! Stevie and Michael Jackson Neck to Neck for the Crown! That was that team! The Greatest, most feared- Deffense! Lol! Chi-Town!

  • this is when music was really music

  • @Cansseco You are so right.. this is beautiful... ohhh.. I love it. Thank you johnniewalker for putting this up!

  • I have always loved this song, even when I first heard it as a child, and I am talking about before my teen years.

  • To me it still is his finest album.

  • one of the best songs on this average Stevie album.

  • The square is the earth, the circle means infinity and perfection, (and we cannot "square the circle"...) this is the concept Stevie wanted to deliver to us...

  • I played this song over and over back in 1985 when the girl I loved moved to Germany. One of Stevies' better efforts.

  • ty 4 putting this up...i 4got this song...

  • the melody and the words go straight to the heart powerful!

  • I love this song

  • This cut was awesome...it was my mom's favorite...to the point where she stole my tape when I was 14...lol

  • wow i just found a gem!

  • its crazy how the quality of music decreases as time goes on. This song is fantastic and when I compare it to the songs that are out now, music in the 2000s sucks

  • ill stop listening to todays music and only listening to 80s stuff, i want to know how it influences me and my music. =)

maybe i can bring the old times back.^^

  • love this song but sadly it reminds me of the challenger space shutlle accident in 1986

  • love this song but sadly it reminds me of the astronots that died in the challenger space shuttle in 1986

  • where is the missing one... i love this song.. the whole album is great... i can't find it.. i will have to buy another one... it's worth it

  • In me tryin to find my whereabouts

    Im turning blue...

but wait I may have found a clue

  • I dont understand, but I felling

Its mistic and sincronicity in ours souls.

    OBJ. Brazil, any where

  • I remember back in 1987 Stevie performed this beautiful song in concert at Wembly arena. i went to see him twice in one week.
