I believe they are great aircraft manufacturers both with state of the art flight controls and with awesome cockpit displays.

@warner72 Did I failed to mention those? My bad... About Lockheed Martin... Lockheed made great planes. Don't forget the L1045 Constellations and L1011 Tristar. Man! those planes were great. Constellation was in use by TWA for transatlantic and Tristar's aircraft system with autoland and other cool things outdated B747s...

@ArtStudio101 I agree that both are as good as each other but my best flying experience to date has been on an A340-600 of Virgin Atlantic. Service was superb and aircraft very comfortable and quiet. Boeing's 777 is the best they've built and great for long haul too. Flew AA 757, Miami/Barbados...big mistake! Was cramped and service was awful. Wouldn't want to travel on a 757 for longer than 3hours.

@TheBoeingMan123 I gotta agree with you there. See comment below. Am a big fan of 777 though. Boeing's best ever aircraft in my opinion. A380 is in a different league altogether for comfort and quietness.

the B757, quite frankly the BEST mid-long range aircraft to date. That jet is plenty powerful! Even though it has been out of production since 2004, I would recomend it for any airline with new mid-range routes. Get the new 787 in 10 years,--or after making profit on the route

@ruemiser This was before computers. This is the FIRST time this airplane flew. There was no simulators to practice on before hand. They didn't know any of the planes characteristics until it flew. You do better!

I totally agree that Boeing made a terrible mistake taking out the "slim lady with the big jugs"of production. I think they regret that decision now that the global market demands passenger volume and range.

Just imagine the 757 if fitted with today´s technology..."bigger" and powerfull engines and top of the top on avionics.

especially global economy is in unstable state some say it is coming back

some says it is plunging again; investment in bigger airport for a 380 is risky

and it takes more passenger to have one a 380 profitable, air liner would take that into consideration

however 787 can use most international airport without re-building it and it cost less fuel wise. 787 seems to be more conserve option

@Mattijjah85 The A380 was a response to Boeing's dominance in the VLA market. Infact, that's all what airbuses products have been, responses to Boeing's successful planes. The A380 isn't a revolution, neither is the 787, 747, 57, 67, or 777. The revolution is he 707. The first jet civil plane of its size, range, and efficiency (at its time.) Just to let you know, airbus wont break even on the A380-800.

I love the sound of those Rolls-Royce engines; wonderful aircraft, have taken over 50 flights in the 757. It's hard to imagine that British airways will be retiring them soon, I flew in their first 757 G-BIKA in the 1980's.

I love Boeing's other planes, but the 757 should still be in production. It's a great workhorse of a plane.

It's a bumpy old thing, but left on the scrap heap. Went to Egypt on one (and back) needed some more fillings afterward. Great vid though.

Boeing did make a mistake taking out the 757. It was the first plane i've ever flown on with american airlines back in 2002 and i always saw it as the face of boeing next to the 747.
