  • @gtvapsamtik. the new 4.0L can only get the supercharger from TRD.

you can look at STS for the T/C or go to URD to get the S/C either way truck is fast.

at the sema show toyota put the 5.7L V8 tundra motor in the X-runner maybe they would come out with that

  • @moffatt614 not true.... URDUSA.COM makes a kit for the old and new 4.0L now. I own a URD S/C kit for the old 4.0L

  • Personaly, I would rather have supercharger. But turbo still badass

  • Misterhougy, have you ever ran a turbocharged engine or disassembled a turbo? They have one turbine shaft, bearings on each end of the shaft and two halves that bolt together plus there is no parasitic hp loss from building boost unlike a s/c. Count how many bearings, seals, gears are in a s/c. If a turbo is so unreliable, why are they the staple power adder and ALL 18 wheeler diesel engines? BTW the heat is generated by boost. I've cooked many plug wires on s/c engines.

  • @red1950stude

Not ALL 18 Wheelers just have turbos. The 8V92TA made by DD has both a supercharger and turbo. Your argument is flawed. The majority of the heat is not generated by boost. On a turbo the majority of the heat is produced by the exhaust gases which drive the turbo. If you cooked your plug wires they were too close to the engine or exhaust mani/. Had nothing to do with the compressed air naturally producing heat. I personally prefer turbo, but a S/C is WAY more reliable. PERIOD

  • so any new TACOMA with 4.0 L engine can be upgraded with turbo charger from TRD ?

  • @gtvapsamtik not from trd

  • yea, the sound sounds badass. lol.

  • most reliable TUCK on the road.

  • @gtvapsamtik My ford will kick it's ass

  • @himeka01

    Doubt it

  • s/c allways seem to have there problems and are expensive, turbos are less work dependable and cheaper

  • @ca1192 turbos are less stable, they generate a lot more heat than a supercharger

  • @ca1192

Turbos have more working parts, higher maintenance, create most heat and are more easily damaged. S/C just plop onto the engine and you're set.

  • hmm, looks like your T-stat is leaking since that pink shit is all over the place.

  • I'm not a engine nut but what is that thing that makes that sound so different and how can it be placed in a Tacoma? any advice?

  • oh my god thats not a device that you place in your tocoma to make it sound different its a blow off valve for the turbo so it can release pressure just dont talk anymore

  • I said I didn't know about it. If you can't provide help then keep your ill comments to yourself.

  • if you want the sound of a turbo then your going to need a turbo de de dee if you dont know at least wats making the sound and wat a turbo is then i would not get a turbo because you do not know how it changes your trucks performance if you dont know how it works dont get it or you will look like a dumbass simple . do you know anything at all about turbos?

  • wow sounds like someone got raped in prison... your a real douchebag... any guy that comes on youtube and is checkin out toyotas is a good guy in my book. TOYOTA ALL THE WAY! so just get off his case and get off youtube... might as well leave your mancard too prick

  • hahahahahahahahahahaha

  • is a turbo or a s/c better for backcountry 4x4'ing and hauling shit?

  • its all a matter of preference

both have advantages and disadvantages, which is too much to fit with a limit on how many characters i can type in a post.

s/c has good low-mid end grunt, so does a small turbo, but a bigger turbo gives more mid-higher hp with less boost pressure, to sum it all up

  • it went on tvb hk tv.

  • then i gave doll to cuzin in hk, golf in hk.

  • it sounded loud after kn filter.

  • they add a turbo no tell

  • it sound like a hot rod

  • damn. that is impressive. how much compression are you getting out of that thing?

  • i want this soo bad

  • Me too I have an 06' xtra cab 4x4 4.0l. How can I look into one of these?

  • yea so do i king cab

  • Will that fit a 05 Double cab 4.0l V6? If so message me, and message me with the model name/company

    thanks

  • i have a 2007 tacoma..*drool* did you custom build this? or is there a kit? must be custom either way...i am jelous as hell

  • doyou have one for a 2000 v6?

    if so message me
