Don't know if you knew. The two primary isotopes are Uranium 235 and 238. 235 is the radioactive isotope that is used in weapons and reactors. 238 is not radioactive enough to mention. Depleted uranium is 238 after all the 235 has been filtered out. That's why your marbles are less reactive than your ore, because your ore still has 235 in it.
Your uranium ore sample would be a "Secondary ore", which is when uranium is dissolved in ground water and then deposited elsewhere, normally in the form of veins or coatings; I'd say yours is a coating on the one side. Does it glow under black light by any chance? Pitchblende (a primary ore) won't glow, but some of the secondary ores will so that would help confirm the identity.
I just bought some of these marbles (the big ones) and the uranium ore I got (2 pieces, haha!) clearly has some yellowcake on one side, but nothing on the other. It could be that your ore is similar.
why do i think this is not safe. i just got a xay, and anther...

if you eat 6 bananas, you get the same dose of radioactivity (if you are dumb enough to eat all 3 of them)

the one side of the ore is more radioactive as one side is mainly just rock, the other is the actual ore
