  • for the wheels did it need spacers?

  • @ed2180831 maybe ur just driving it harder...ernjoying the sound

  • @ed2180831 the reason your gas milage went down was because you loved the sound at the higher rpms ....so you drove it a little bit harder hense gas milage droped! same happened to me only a differnt car!!

  • best quis ive ever seen :D sir u inspire me

  • @ed2180831 if you go over 2.5" it will kill milage,,,,you should stay at 2 to 2.25" anything over kills power and mileage,,,

  • @TheSleepermgm that was retarded, no it wont. anything over 3 inch maybe but 2.5 inch is even better then 2.25, im not saying bigger piping is always better because thats another dumb assumption but i ran 2.5 inch all the way back and noticed no difference over 2.25 except sound, 2 inch is too small.

  • @Leafsrule016 i have read that the 4.6 2v will loose to much back pressure @ 2.50" pipes and if your are running a n/a car to stay @ 2.25" but no more then 2.50",,,????

  • @TheSleepermgm no, 2.5" piping works too but I wouldn't go bigger then that. I had dual 2.5 inch pipe and i never lost any back pressure, you still have mufflers and catalytic converters on there so the size of the piping has a minimal difference, my friend lost power going with 2 inch piping all the way back, no cats and glasspacks.

  • @ed2180831 your gas milage should have gone way up ?? did you reset or tune the e.c.u. ?? if you ran duals with out the h-pipe or x-pipe it will go down,,,,the h-pipe scavenges and helps mileage and hp go up but if you have straight pipes off of each manifold all the way back without conecting at all thats bad,,,,if you have the h or x-pipe its your e.c.u. that needs to be unhooked for 10min or get a sct tune for duals,,i have never ever heard that b4 at all,,the mileage has always gone up ?????

  • Hey man ive got the same car, but mines a 2000 mercury grand marquis

I really wanna get it to go faster

Im doing 0 to 60 in about 8 or 9 right now

I just wanna put my ricer friends in their place

What do i have to do to make my grand marquis faster?

Im just startin out and could use any advice

    thanks!

  • @jakedaron i can help

  • @jakedaron get deeper 3.73 gears in the rear axle, first gear is too long.. i know this car starts to pull pretty good up above 30 but before then its a dog, the gears will dramatically improve ur acceleration, along with an intake and exhaust... my 93 use to run 0-60 in about 8.5, now its low 7 second range which might not sound like a lot but it is a big difference

  • @jakedaron go to blue oval .com theres alot to do -first get a leget exhaust - get a high flow cat -and some mangna flows -then get a ram air -the get a tranny flush ,get all that aold shit out -then get some differant gear s- i have a 97 -and she goes - got new daul exhaust -intake ,lighter fly wheel ,cobra intake manifold.

    .does 7s 0-60

  • ive seen some really fucked up grand marquis's but this is bad add... al black with no exesive chrome... nice sound.. and it doesent look stupid... nice car bro... same as marauder....

  • its 1992 or 1993

  • what year is it

  • @swager319 Its a 1992 (first year of that body style and motor) I sold it a while back though. Still ran well and pulled hard with with 343,000 kms.

  • what exhaust id this ?

  • looks good, sounds good, i want one.

  • what year is this man?

  • Mine sounds better

  • @mokmjjjjy lets see a video of it.

  • Sweeet! Love a hot Grand Marquis!

  • @ed2180831 it prbly seemed like your gas mileage was worse cuz you got on it a lot..haha..thats the only reason mine changed..i always got on it to hear the exhaust

  • wat year model is dis

  • what type of rims are those

  • what rims do you have there are they from a mustang cobra

  • i just bought a 92 grand marquis in excellent condition with only 77k, i want to get cold air intake and also was reading about this throttle body spacer that is suppsed to add something like 15 to 20 hp, anybody know if thats bs or if its worth it to upgrade on this car.

  • just bought '99 gmc . THE BEST CAR IVE EVER HAD!!!!! Hands down. What HP parts y'all using? I'm starting with PI springs and larger stabilizer bar.

  • @ed2180831 no i didn't but the gas milage stayed the same for me or at least I didn't notice a change

  • @thingk89 thats strange ,,,get a tune,,,??

  • @ed2180831 Flowmasters true duel, got the paint job really cheap because the guy was learning (under $1000) but its good quality paint.

  • looks like 17" cobra r wheels...

  • my boy lummys marquise sound just like that just a lil deeper hes got a ve and a tacodometer i think its called though

  • Uh, the P71 has a 2v 4.6L SOHC V8 just as this GMQ does. Depending on the year you may either be NPI or PI, but regardless, your gearing is going to be the difference in fuel economy. I have an 04 P71 and my Grandpa has an 04 GMQ. He routinely gets better mileage with his 2.73s than I do with my 3.27s.

  • Hello again. Been a long while. How many miles per gallon do you get with that 4.6L Mercury engine. My P71 had a 4.7 and got horrible gas miliage. But I guess it was heavy and had high performance equipment which made the difference. I may be purchasing a Grand Marquis next. Could you recommend it?? Hope you remember me. Sincerely, JAMES.

  • 2900000kms, how many miles is that?

  • It's actually at about 320,000kms now (about 200,000miles) most contries use kms now

  • ok, can you tell me what year this is? and if you have done anything to the engine, or anything other than tweaking the exhaust? like, could i do this with mine?

  • what contrie u in?lol

  • Canada

  • oh i thought u wen going to say some fucked up place canada's cool just like the us

  • @freewee21 Learn to spell.

  • thats cobra rims give it a nice look

    what mufflers you have?

  • flow master 40's I think

  • 290.000 kilometres and no problems at all? is it running on gasoline or LPG ? had a le baron before but looking for a "real" car: V8

  • just plain old 89 octane gasoline. I used to beat on it when I was in high school but it held up great. It now has 320,000kms and runs like it always did> its for sale now in B.C but most people would be scared away by the kms

  • is there a chance a grand marquis can beat a mustang?

  • definatly, that is if you dump enough money into it.

  • Don't even have to dump alot of money, I've beat a 98 body build GT in my 04 Vic, we got the same motor but i've got the weighted car

  • @luvdoc009 it weighs the same as a mustang and it has the same engine as a mustang, if u changed the gears to that of a mustang uld have a mustang in a grandmarquis body, yes a grand marquis could beat a mustang you just have to try, and it would be wonderful to be in the merc

  • @Enray501 You are on crack if you think a Marquis weighs the same as a Mustang, the heaviest later model mustangs weigh in @ 3600lbs this 92 marquis weighs OVER 2 tons! try 4100lbs!!

  • Thats a Marauder not Marquis

  • Your a Retard not a smart person.

  • hahahaha! that hit the spot

  • to prevent future outbursts of idiocy, the marauder was made from 03-04 and the tell tale feature of those years is the triangular tail lights, these elongated lights are from earlier marquis

  • that doesn't look like a Marauder at all!

  • Has the same frame and body . but it is still far from. I did ok though for paying for everything in high school working 1 day a week.

  • I know, I was being sarcastic

good job on it though, what's she dyno?

  • I never dynoed this car> I have only ever had 2 cars on the dyno before and that was because they required tuning (after market turbo kit) this car is too close to stock to make any real power.

  • OK, so you just changed the appearance and the exhaust. Can't blame you. The Marquis weren't the best sounding cars.

  • they have the same motor as a mustang but this was a daily driver (hence the high miles) and I didn't want a race car, rather a good loking car with a nice sound system that handled ok and was suitible for all ocasions. I have a bmw to go fast in.

  • 5*****stars!

  • ur car is stock my black 97 town car has 22 INCH black 180 spoke de8TONS & 2 15 INCH subwoofers All over u homes

  • I don't have this car anymore . I have a turbo BMW now. the grand marquis was supposed to bee more sporty then baller so thats why I didn't have big rims> youu should post a vid of your car

  • are those mustang rims?

  • Yes >chromed

  • those are awsome lookin

  • Are These The 40's Or The 44's?? Also, Do You Have The Factory Cat Converters?? Also, Do You Have The Factory 4.6L That Came With This Car Or An Engine Swap?

  • stock 4.6 with cats ( smog regulations)

  • damn dude that car looks niiicceee.. i love the rims and black paint. nice car man.

  • how big are those rims? i wanna put some on my marquis, i dunno if i should get 20s or 22s

  • either way itz still goona look playa, but me personally, Id give it some 22's with run flats...

  • these are only 17" mustang cobra r's

  • I love those rims, I was thinking about doing them on my 96 crown vic...anyways how much did you end up spending on that paint job if you don't mind me asking?

  • got someone to do it for me for only 700 bucks and it isn't a crappy single stage either

  • f**k the 96 impalas! marauder rulz!

  • haha fuck you! i have an impala... blackandgold51....how can u say that? if u dont think the '96 impala is a good looking car then something is wrong with u man.

  • That paintjob is FRESH! Great sound too.

  • I don't know what to say about this....gooooooodddddaaaaaaammmmnnnnnn

  • sounds awesome!!!, I gotta do that to my 97 grand marquis...3" diameter hu? got it, i just wanted the marauder sound...thanks for telling how to get it, thanks and good luck!!!

  • I found some heads from a 2003 CV Interceptor that are PI (Performance Inmproved). I was told they will bolt on to my 2000 Grand Marquis they will give me about 20 hp. I want to do exhaust on my car but I don't want it to be loud, I want it to have the Mercury Marauder tone.

  • the Police int. haeds have diferent cams, but you could get even more hp if you went with some Ford Racing cams which may cost less then entire heads, though the car will not run quite as smooth. 3 inch exhaust with high flow cats aand duel silent flow mufflers should give you a quiet but mean presents.

  • Boy that girls sounds nice! Thats different with the mustang rims on it though. Here in the Florida not to many people understand Mercury.

  • I am glad that you could clearly see the rims were mustang rims >that is thedirection i am taking!! thanks man

  • Which mufflers are those FlowMasters, Dynomax, Ravens.

  • Flows ,but I think I shoulda gone with magna flows for a more original sound now...

  • This is what I like to see. Nice car!

  • wow that sounds awesome!

  • that is a nice ride you got, try finding a supercharger for it, my brother put one on his Marauder for $3k = 368hp

  • found one for five But i'll rebuild the engine before i buy it...

  • where did he get a $3k supercharger?

  • I don't know where he got that kit but all i know is that definitely does not include tuning!!

  • What's the offset on those rims you're sporting? Cobra r rims off what year mustang?

  • I know that they are on 95-96s but beleive it or not i hve never gotten a strait answer from anyone which year they are really from

  • oh and i think the offset is +24

  • They look great, though unfortunately for me they would not fit my 03. Should I be looking for 03+ mustang wheels for proper fitments then?

  • don't necessarily go for the "proper fitment"> thats what i did for this car and it actually didn't fit all that well > it rubbed on the front and was too far in at the rear>my advice to you is to try different offsets on both front and rear and be happy with the look rather than

  • what people tell you fit right (oh yah >you definatly want the rims as far out as possible or you will notice a hell of a lot of body roll>use small spacers if you need a few milimeters out)

  • Just an fyi: For best fitment on this body style, you should go with a generally lower offset. Higher offset will have the wheels tucked further in, and you will have more issues in terms of rubbing.

0-offset wheels are what I'm gonna try to go with when the time comes.

Those Cobras do look good, though!

  • or negative offset, that can look sick too!

  • sounds nasty. what kinda mufflers?

  • Good nasty? Flowmaster Super 40's

  • Or actually on second thought maybe not 40s but flow masters none the less

  • That's not a 97'. It's a 1992-1994 model.

  • I know that > it is re: or in other words regarding another video

  • are those marauder rims?

  • No, they are cobra r's But the car kinda looks like a marauder even side by side. Not quite as fast, but still wastes many cars on the road.

  • clean

  • Nice. I love hearing a nice exhaust on these cars.

    Top notch, mate.
