I like the circus thing more in this movement. STill not crazy about it though. But, I say again, the playing is from heaven!

How he plays the first theme! Talk about "flick of the wrist"! So difficult but so easy sounding. Hard to play like that!

I don't believe it, edolify! I went to the same concert! It was the day before I moved to New York. I went with my family and did'nt expect anything and then this beautiful man walks on and plays the stars from the heavens! I've played the violin since I was 5 years old and this evening was like a revelation to me. I didn't know that it could be about telling a story of life on a violin. Anyone with more info on Jan Stigmer? Please post of you do!!!!

I know this guy! Heard him in Shanghai with Mendelssohn concerto. It was a rollercoaster ride!
Absolutely the best I've ever heard! So much personality. I remember jumping off my chair after the last movement without thinking. It was like a rock concert.

Thanks, glad you like it. Jan Stigmer is one of my all time favourites. I heard him first time at Wigmore Hall in London a few yerars ago. He played a Beethoven "Kreutzer" that was absolutely stunning! I also heared a concert recording of Sibelius violin concerto from Chicago that was like a nuclear blast! It's with so much personality and integrity.
