  • At the end of the day, one of the main reasons humans are where we are today is because we our brains developed so well with the addition of meat into our diets. But we should be eating more kangaroo in Australia its a much better alternative as it impacts a lot less on the environment is very healthy and tastes delicious.

  • I don't get it when people complain about shit like this. How do they think animals hunt? It's not quick at all. Like tigers. They clamp their jaws around the victim and crush it's throat so it chokes on it's own blood.

  • @HaterOFHater Human beings aren't tigers, holy fucking shit.

The idea that we should base our ethical standards on the behaviour of animals is utterly moronic. There's a common truism that our ability to make conscious decisions about right and wrong is what separates us from animals-- something people are very proud of, until they see videos like this.

Then they try to defend this heinous shit with "Animals do it, so we can do it too!"

    Ugh.

  • Omg. Loss for words. I'm a culprit. ://////

  • that looks fucking delicious!

  • i just ate a steak, but after watching that, I could turn vegetarian.

  • If you cant stomach this, You dont deserve to eat Meat!

  • It hurts to watch. I mean, it physically hurts to watch. =(

  • that makes me hungry

  • @tommoghee18 reality is obviously a bit too 'real' for some people; some blasé comments on here can be amusing but really they're just a shitty defense-mechanism. I understand real life can be a bit hard to swallow (intended). god bless safran!

  • The cows go through WAY to much shit.. that they shouldn't have to... I mean.. Slice its throat, then shock it to stop the bleeding. Then go on with the skinning and what not for the beef. Thats all you bloody need. Don't SHOCK IT, then put it in the "Knocking Box", followed by the heisting, then slicing throat, then shocking some more, then skin it.. Fuck sake, don't be so fucking heartless. Animals got feelings, and just cause they don't speak to tell us. We ignore it? It's so disappointing..

  • Makes me want to go get a burger.

  • @DaLaBean

Oh, you're SO COOL AND HEARTLESS, De La Bean.

  • This guy doesn't know how to cook for shit. There was barely anyhting Jamaican about the stew and it was more of a curry aniway. You should totally use goats or something anf some bell peppas and more seasoning oyther than thyme.

  • @PlatinumJestar wtf? lmao

  • @PlatinumJestar

lol Yeah, that was the most concerning part for me too.

  • @PlatinumJestar i think you missed the point here :)

  • @ewieranga yeah he really did ;D

  • wow

  • This man is a Genius. Im not vegan or anything like that, but i feel kind of sad for the cow, man.

  • That has to be the shittiest job ever lol

  • AGAHAHAHA OH MY GOD, BEST THING IVE EVER SEEN XD

  • The second they switched back to him cooking and making that awesome food I was like, DAMN I'M HUNGRY

  • awesome

  • I came

  • LOL

  • Delicious! Thanks for sharing your recipe!

  • @Linykocour hahaaahha ha ha ha, so funny...

  • @TheChilldude95 It's not funny its fucking delicious! You can go eat grass... meanwhile I'm to hog-killing...

  • @Linykocour You sound so hardcore saying that! im happy for you, finding your true self and everything. Your mom should be proud. Ahh forget it, your probably a hillbilly anyway, and your mom is probibly acually proud to...

  • 20 people aren't vegetarian.

  • well that was unexpected,,,

  • Fan fucking tastic

  • omgomgomg. i stopped watching when it said lead the cow up the ram.

this makes me hate people so much. so much hate. raeg.

  • Am I supposed to be disgusted by this its reality the cow died instantly anyway.

  • @Tenjikurounintube Yes it is reality, a really sad reality. And the the point is not to make people who aren't disgusted by it disgusted(though i dont think they mind if somebody feels a bit nocious after watching this), but to make them aware of how the meat they eat is treated at the factory and maybe think twice before eating meat again. Lost a bit of faith in humanity reading your comment there. Hope you where ironic.

  • @Tenjikurounintube

    Punctuation, bitch! Use it.

  • This maybe a stupid question but...is John a vegetarian? vegan? neither?

  • ......This. This was horrid..

  • wow... lapsed vegan no longer...

  • @Canadiansoldiersrock Oh, it's real. That or they have an excellent foley artist.

  • The beef I get is from the family farm, so I like to think it's a little more humane than this, but not really.

  • Yum yum yum.

  • im hungry for some beef now

  • I was gong to make a cheeseburger, but after watching this...I am now inferiorated!!!

  • go vegan.

  • OH my god those poor beautiful cows

  • That looks delicious.

  • @Trainwrek3

If humans are herbivores... how come I can eat meat? Am I not a human now?

  • This looks delicious!

  • So why didn't he show how too acquire the onions, peppers, and herbs?

If you have to go kill the cow yourself, why not have to collect the onions too?

  • @borg389 he is trying to be shocking. You should make a video of you digging up onions. I'm sure it would attract millions of viewers.

  • now i'm hungry :(

  • Heya non-veg*ns on youtube. Eat what you will but can we please bury the "humans are meat-eaters" myth? Humans are herbivores and please do some research before arguing with me thanks.

  • @Trainwrek3 Humans are Omnivores look it up.

  • @Trainwrek3 Humans are herbivores who can't effectively digest cellulose? Herpderp.

  • @Trainwrek3 I'm vegan, and really don't appreciate this illogical line of argument. Fucking retarded

  • Damn, im hungry now

  • That does look delicious

  • Looked like a highly efficient and well-organised slaughterhouse. Cow wasn't stressed, wasn't forced into clamps or awkward head positions, or witness to previous carcasses as in many I've seen. The meat was processed quickly, and I'm sure tastes better for all that.

I respect vegetarians choice, but don't drink milk either if you don't want cows to be slaughtered.

  • Is it bad that I was completely unmoved by that? Must come with growing up on and off farms >.>

  • guy at 1:55 should have gone to University instead of the Pub

  • Everyone should have to see where their meat comes from, at least once.

  • @CheezInspector been there, caught the blood for bloodsausages

but its nice that city people see this

  • @CheezInspector I have!

  • mmmm.. meat. this makes me happy to be a human, and at the top of the food chain. animals are delicious. all of them, just needs the right sauce.

  • @SuperDeeder Top of the food chain? I doubt you could even kill a dog without a weapon.

  • It's almost enough to make me a vegetarian.... almost.

  • I'd love to see this one shown in schools. The amount of city folk with no real understanding of where their meat comes from .... shockingly ignorant! I'm not vegetarian (grew up on a sheep farm), just constantly amazed people think meats appear out of thin air and pre-packaged in plastic.

  • Sizzling chronic disease.

  • welcome to reality. Vegetarians and Vegans, if you are confronted with a survival situation, you would eat meat just to stay alive. I believe this is why we eat meat today as an ancestral trait. Our bodies have adapted to eat meat now and only eating vegetables will make your life difficult to manage. I was one vegan for 6 months and I was clinically unhealthy and anemic, even though I ate shitloads of parsley every day. It was like hell during the 6th month and I couldn't take it anymore.

  • @LOLDISNEYLAND

Lol at the "shitloads of parsley". That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. I am vegan and am healthier than I was while eating meat. Just because you weren't smart enough to eat properly does not mean you have come across some moral truth about eating meat. And I and many like me would rather starve to death than kill an animal for food.

  • @shumila

can we then cook you up?

  • @R3ck1355 Sure. Just let me die first of natural causes though. I have no objection to anyone eating me when my life is over with.

  • @shumila hahaha its fun that you think your worthless life is anything related to these cows, just let me get this straight... you say that after living your life in comforty and have died in natural causes you'r ready to sacrefice your body for someone to eat(not that i think anyone would). While these cows are living there whole life as some kind of obejective-later-to-be-food thing and gets shot in the head by a bolt gun. And you think its the same thing? sad.

  • @TheChilldude95 Lol. You don't know me, buddy, nor do you know if I have lived my life "in comforty." As an animal rights activist and and environmental advocate, I wouldn't really count my life as "worthless". The day I have no cause worth fighting for I will jump off a cliff happily. Living is honestly too much work, and I don't believe in heaven or hell.

  • @TheChilldude95 I would also like to point out that I am in fact vegan and have been for many years.

  • @shumila Nice to hear. The only thing that makes me a bit irritated is when people write stupid and ignorant jokes thats not even funny while after seeing a cow getting brutally slaughterd.

  • @shumila Do you think a natural predator would stop and consider the moral dilemma at hand before eating you?

  • @TheCrusher112 Are you saying the human being has the same level of moral consciousness as say, a lion? If you are then your analogy is apt.

  • @TheCrusher112

Thanks for knocking me back into reality. * I was thinking holy cow, no more beef.* But you have a good point.

  • fuck im hungry

  • Ugh, it's enough to make you vegetarian.

  • You know whats worse than watching how you're cow is killed? Knowing what it does to your insides. Studying nutrition turned me off meat more than the moral reasons.

  • ...froth... i think i might make myself one now, now, where was my bolt gun?

  • There is a better quality version available on the directors web site:

  • Can't post the link :(

  • that made me hungry. especially the slaughterhouse part..mmmmm beef!

  • I'm a vegetarian because of the type of stuff video depicts, but also for health reasons. he's trying to teach ignorant meat eaters that meat is disgusting and cruel. Not to mention it actually has little health value and can easily be replaced by other foods rich in protein.

  • you are the biggest loser, not only are you wrong, no one else gives a shit

  • Dumb arse, if it wasn't for meat your brain wouldn't be as big as it is today...

  • That's such a piss weak argument. Yes it got us here, but it is hardly a reason to keep eating it. We can survive easily without it. At least, you have a computer so I assume you are comfortable enough to be choosy with what you eat.

But each to his own I suppose =P, if you don't have a problem with the mass production of meat I can understand why you would never stop eating it. For me I do, and the amount of meat we eat is not sustainable- too much water is used and it ruins the land.

  • Yep you're spot on! Animal agriculture makes a 40% greater contribution to global warming/climate change than all the transport in the world combined, not to mention is TERRIBLE for your insides!

  • his not educating shit.

this is the kind of low brow humor he uses

  • i dont have any beef with vegetarians, but where exactly does he teach meat is disgusting. or that it has little health value and can easily be replaced by other foods. unless you mean in another video?

  • but is it Kosher?

  • 2:06

    LOL

Off to McD's Pattie processing plant!!!

  • 2:06 LOL

Off to McD's Pattie Processing plant!!!

  • Omg this is so hillarius! Hope vegetarians watching this hahah

  • Why do you think vegetarians are the ones who need to learn where meat comes from? lol ;o)

  • I dnt wrote that they need to know where meat comes from.. Iam rly annoyied by vegetarians.. thats why..

  • Why? Because they are healthier than you?

  • Its not healthy to not eat meat..

  • exactly

  • @BobbeTobbe

yes it is, one could say just eating vegetable is bad for you.

  • Hope you enjoy the meat rotting in your stomach, clogging your arteries and making your blood acidic :D

  • rot, clog and acidify? haha btw i will enjoy it.

  • @MooGoo28

    can you cite any studies?

  • Yes. Yes I can. Perhaps it was once healthy to be an omnivore but you'll find the meat quality and circumstances were different.

  • I am also happy to provide you with many more references for studies if you wish. I have an entire shelf of nutrition books and studies (yes, yes if you hadn't gathered I study this stuff)... Not trying to be arrogant :)

  • Oh John you are a legend

  • Looks delicious. There is nothing better than fresh beef.

  • I'd like to make this, but my wife doesn't like me bringing chainsaws into the kitchen. Has anyone tried to substitute the beef for hamsters?

  • @stefanmuc2k The original recipe calls for hamster?

  • I think he should have fried the onions a little more before he put the garlic in and stirred a bit. Perhaps a splash of vinegar as well?

  • haha this is funny as

  • ...

Which is perfect for my winter cold, incidentally.

    Excuse the fingers!

    ...

    :D

  • man i wish i had that job

  • Nah it's a shitty job. Hard work and bad pay. Usually get paid more working on a farm, or building sites.

  • Humans have killed animals to survive for centuries, how is this confronting? Fucken city slickers

  • dude wasnt even wearing gloves... getting his hands all over my meat

  • There is a continuity goof. At 0:44 there are plenty of onion pieces in the pan. When we have another pan shot at 2:18 the onions have disappeared with no explanation. I am very disappointed Safran.

  • It was in with the sauted chili, garlic, and thyme, that he returned to the pan after the beef had cooked.

  • "Ethical reasoning"? No, I don't think so. I believe he begins with his entire unreasonable-impractical opinions and then works his logic around his preconceived conclusions. And I think what he does, he does for attention. He's changed position on numerous issues, so "these conclusions" aren't really that ...concluded.

  • Comment removed

  • He's controversial, but it'd be a mistake to call him crazy. Crazy is the absence of logic. Singer has followed a process of ethical reasoning to arrive at these conclusions - and is able to articulate it well. I don't always agree with the man, but he is certainly lucid and rational.

  • @Narcissistequel the phrase is for all intents and purposes

  • @Narcissistequel "for all INTENTS AND purposes"

  • @Narcissistequel "for all INTENTS AND purposes"

  • Damn this made me hungry

    GUT THE COW!!!!!!!!

  • people want to eat the burger but they dont want to meat (pun intended) the cow.

i eat meat but im sick of all these meat loving (anti-veggies) people. you should only be eating a serve of meat the size of your fist, otherwise go out and kill the cow yourselves.

  • You're right. People should only eat meat in moderation. And by moderation, I mean the exact amount you, 26862, deem moderate. I could not agree more and anyone who disagrees with me by as much as an ounce should kill themselves.

  • I have no problem with meat eaters but the way modern societies eat meat is DANGEROUS! Our bodies are not designed to handle it. 1-2 times a month is actually all we are designed to eat meat for, if not never.

  • @MooGoo28 Can you prove it? If you look at Darwinism, which I presume you agree with, it'd make sense that we eat a lot of meat...

  • Darwinism you say? There is a reason we dont have very pronounced canines and still have large molars for plant matter. How often do you think our ancestors actually ate meat? Meat has been a good source of protein in the past but there are much healthier options available now. There are many bacterias, parasites and various diseases that humans can get from meat..not to mention high cholestrol and heart disease. There is really no need for it. Study nutrition and see :)

  • @MooGoo28

Can you cite any studies? Also last time I checked us humans are omnivores.

  • Fuck me, thats confronting.

  • wow that was prett confronting

  • go meat

stop eating the world's vegetation you disgusting vegans

    SAVE THE CANOPIES

  • GUT THE COW!

  • He possibly has the most annoying voice in the world.

  • He didn't soften the onion enough, and the beef should be browned longer. It looks tasty, though.

  • Loved the contrast of the gritty reality of a slaughterhouse -> back to the clean and nice studio.

  • I know where meat comes from. I say everyone who eats it should know where it comes from and make their own decision on how they feel about it.

  • Oh dear...

I'd say don't watch this if you're sensitive to animal cruelty. And you don't want to see a cow being shot with a bold gun cos i sure as hell didn't.

  • But the majority of society do not consider this to be cruel, and the majority vote defines what is acceptable and unacceptable. I think it's much more dangerous not to ever watch or think about things like this.

  • While your final statement holds true in general, cows are delicious and humans are meat eaters.

Some like to complain about the method, but would it not be the same, or maybe even worse, if we were to hunt them instead?

Taking a life for the improvement of your own may indeed be cruel, but such is the way of man.

Denying such carnal heritage is spitting in the face of your maker, whomever you believe that to be. Such counterproductive thoughts are just... inhumane.

  • lol at the humane joke.

Animals may not be a good example, (the future will decide that), but I'd argue that the human race sometimes does progress for the better by spitting in the face of past behaviour and majority thought. Eg, dropping the whole legal slavery thing or getting rid of the pederasty-is-normal thing post-Romans.

I'd love for the animal thing to be on that list, but I am well aware that I am very much the minority and/or crazy.

  • Woops, once again I've started a debate which is far too high brow for me to get involved in.

  • if i were a tree i'd rather be cut down than some fat hairy hippy rubbing their butt all over me trying to 'protect' me... if that's the price of salvation, fuck the environment!

  • @aquacamel I realise, 9 month old comment, but the urge to kill for food is instinct. Slavery is not instinct. Neither is pederasty. "Animal Cruelty" is what people get from not having to kill their own livestock, the meat is given to them in a store, pre-cut and packaged, makes it almost look like it never was alive. People don't think of where their food comes from, ever. When they finally find out, since they have never seen it before, it disturbs them. They didn't develop basic instinct.

  • @aquacamel now since i didn't have enough space in that last comment, I'll explain that animal cruelty thing i said. Killing or harming an animal for any reason other than food or raw materials is Animal Cruelty to me. I personally have never killed anything other than insects, but through thought I've come to my conclusions.

  • well, it is generally agreed in philosophy / ethics that humans should not eat animals if they don't have to. It is proven that we don't have to (since other sources of proteins exist), yet every single time we find an excuse to eat some, we are being irrational. just saying the debate is already over.

  • ...what? Maybe in crazy ass vegan philosophy, but the vast majority of humanity accepts their omnivore status without question. It isn't irrational to act the way nature intended.

If we were meant to be dumb graze animals, we'd have multiple stomachs like cows, dedicated to converting nutrients from graze plants to protein.

...or did you ever stop to consider how cows have so much muscle mass without ever eating meat?

  • well read some peter singer, then try to answer back at him. or just take some philosophy classes.

  • LOL, you're basing your assumption that eating animal proteins, which omnivores like ourselves are supposed to do, is irrational off the ideas of ONE guy? Wow. Obviously the debate is totally over...

Here, let me check my Aristotle...nope, nothing about the "irrationality" of being an omnivore. Voltaire? Plato? Socrates? Thomas Aquinas? Damn, not really seeing that whole "don't eat animals" streak.

Oh, maybe that's because most rational humans recognize their omnivore status.

  • Humans are are actually built more to be herbivores than omnivores if you look at comparative taxonomy.

  • More vegan horseshit. You're made to eat meat and veggies, and nuts and all sort of shit. You apparently eat large load of bullshit.

  • What a waste of time. A worthless degree too.

  • Get out of here with that horseshit.

  • @morbious I won't argue with most of the stuff you said even though I disagree..it's your opinion. However, humans are not "meat-eaters". It's a well known fact that humans are herbivores. Eat what you will just get your facts straight if you're going to argue about it.

  • @Trainwrek3

Humans are omnivorous and have been consuming meat since the last 200,000 years. Early humans in hunting gathering groups depended almost entirely on game for survival. You really need to make sure you're in the right before telling other people to "get their facts straight".

  • Why is there such a high upper inflection at the end of EVERYTHING!? I'd kill this guy before one of those cows.

  • im sure YOU dont sound like an angel

  • I remember seeing this in Fast Food Nation. God its disgusting.

  • Omg, that is so disgusting! :P

    Lol! I'm hungry!

  • I wonder where the intestines go.

  • mcdonalds burgers
