hey "thick" curly hair is better then thin, when thin it gets tangeld..a lot! even with water or strong wind soo yeah i think you mean you have a lot of hair

me in the other hand have a lot of really thin thight  curls its such a pain it gets tangeld so easily so my hair is suckish your's is probably awesome and prety ^^ trust me you are one of the "lucky ones"

Ok 1 question...so where's her curls? I have curls! That's NOT curly hair... that's hair with SOME wave brought out by layers and scrunched within an inch of it's life to try to pull out SOME curl...if she was a true curly with that "rounded haircut that eliminates weight" (and weight pulls down on curls) it would dry up to her neck.

By a rounded layer cut I think what she means is ask your hairstylist to give you a layered-hair cut that focuses on making your overall hair not heavy. So that means different length layers so that not all of your hair is long and drags the curls down.

I have to agree with her. When I had short-medium length hair, my curls would look better when I diffused it. So if you have long hair, a haircut making hair lighter would make hair more suitable to be diffused .

Thanks for the advice. As much as I'm stuck on my hair (even this 5 months later! :) I still haven't gotten the courage to cut my long hair yet. So I'm still twisting it and using a clip to keep it up. And now I have a wedding i'm going to be in so can't really cut it now...but i will! Hehe! :) Thanks again!

Hehe that IS a perfect description :) pyramid... on the other side, i did have a bob at one point in high school, and my 'friends' used to call me mushroom head! so i guess the complex that came from that made me never want to cut it shorter again. But I think I should try it now, because back then there was no mousse so it 'might' be better curls now since back then there were fuzzy curls. hehe! thanks for the advice! :)

LOL I once got a posh bob when I was younger and it was terrible! I have incredibly curly hair so it looked like.. eww.

don't cut your layers TOO short. my shortest layer is at the top of my neck, but I don't part my hair to the end (throw some hair baclwards) so the layers look shorter.

mousse will kill your hair =[ I personally don't wash my hair well after the conditioner (but wash it everyday..dandruff because of this) so that if feels softer/more tamed after it dries.

You know, I found out that properly cut, mild "scene" hair hairstyles look well on curly hair. I re-did my layers to match the style and it looks gorgeous. Try it, but without the crazy and short bits.

If you're still nervous, try on wigs. My hairdresser makes me try on wigs with various hairstyles to see what it could look like when it's over, it helps in avoiding many catastrophes!

Thanks for the tips. The wigs are an interesting idea but it sounds like you have a hair salon near you that actually 'wants' to take the time to work with you. I think most hairdressers give off a bit of 'dred' having to work with someone with curly hair because most seem to be at a loss for suggestions. One time, I saw a girl go in and it was completely straight. They were talking about what she wanted. Then she washed the girls hair and the shock on the HD face when she saw curls.

well my hair is shoulder length.. it long in the back ans get shorter to about past my ears, and then i did some bangs that are semi permed.. so i guess if i wanted to straighten my hair i have some cute bangs. i also think my hair is layered.. try it out.. But dont let ur hair grow really long.. u will get triangle hair and ur curls wont show.. trust me!! i longest i will go is to ur shoulders.. its easier to take care of!

Tip number one boldly states: Invest in a good hair cut. Find a stylist who knows how to cut curly hair. Depending on your style, layers are usually a no-no for curly hair. You should have your hair cut every 6 to 8 weeks.

Can you believe that? Layers are a no-no?

I cut my hair once a year, have various layers of hair, I sometimes cut my own hair, and I always get compliments from people on the way my hair looks.

Don't believe everything on the internet, especially the how-to stuff. Hell, even Wikipedia isn't always right.
