  • This exchanges of dialogue in this game are awesome to hear, even though I have never played it before.

  • brings back so many memories,i was 8?when playing this game.

  • Isn't that hiding spot useless....? I mean sure we cant see him behind the rocks but the bandits sure as hell would when they left haha

  • "keep your finger out of that pie"

  • Graham, why are you pointing that shotgun at me?

  • This game has so stupid control of movement across edges of screens!

  • man, now I'm craving custard pie.

  • King Graham was the first serious male role model I had in my life.

Dat's why I came out so BENEVOLENT YO'

  • Despite the annoying pansy owl and the bad voice acting, I still love me some King's Quest V!

  • does that owl ever go anywheres. or is he just a frickin wuss. how the heck does graham put up with it

  • wow it's amazing how different the pc version is from the nes version haha

  • I fucking loved this game!! It took me and my brother two days to work out how to get past the first screen, we somehow got him up the tree and onto the roof before we worked out how to get on to the next screen!

  • lol so funny, time stops when they talk.

  • @mixcherie92 i love kings quest 5 or any game similar

  • I remember playin this while sitting on my dad's lap. I'ts one of my favorite memories as a child :')

  • Such bad voice acting.

  • @medeyer just....please...shut up and go

  • This was the first computer game I bought with my own money. Great memories. But the version I bought (must have been the original first version) didn't have spoken parts.

The one part that really pissed me off was trying to figure out that you have to throw your boot at a cat at one point (?) and it completely made no sense. I never in a million years would have figured it out had someone not told me.

  • I remember dying in the treasure room all the time. =/

  • The owl saved me from dying so many times.

  • The owl is the original Jar Jar Binks.

  • when I was little I was afraid of the bar...ya know where they maul and tie you up to die if you sit down or talk to them

  • I liked the owl !

  • I hated getting lost in the desert.

  • He just took a rotting fish from a bucket and took it with him.... is he insane? O.o

  • They didn't actually talk when I played it! Thank god!

  • I'd ditch the owl and go with the snake anyway!

  • Haha I played this game when I was about 6 years old..though I had the floppy disk version when they hadnt recorded voices for it...I just clicked random items on random things...seemed to work.

And I was petrified of the desert. Oh memories....

  • OMG...this is such old memories that my stomach is turning. AWESOME series. ya that fkn owl didn't seem annoying back then.

  • The pie maker looks like he's wearing a dress. I've always called him the bearded woman.

  • Who does the voice for the Owl...Monthy Python?

  • DOSBox makes the towns music sound like poo

  • OMG, I never seen this game before, but listening to that owl was like listening to Star Wars Jar-Jar >_>

  • Telltale Games picked up the series and are making a sequel. Interesting...ex-Lucas Arts designers working on a Sierra game.

  • It's Mr Bill the Owl!

  • a POYSonous snake

  • I cannot believe my eyes either... this is genuinely out of the attic for one last nostalfest.

  • I cannot believe my eyes either... this is genuinely out of the attic for one last nostalfest.

  • idk why everyone though cedric was annoying. i thought he was adorable

  • Dammit! How come you didn't make him dance the BUG-a-loo???

  • Comment removed

  • Here's the last of the pies!

Wow that baker has higher voice than his brother.

  • cedric such a coward

  • This is a wonderful game but... tell me guys, how has been able to finish that by yourself? The great mistake is to put the NOT RETURN POINTS, i mean that if you didn't take a thing, or if you use that too soon, you'll not be able to finish the game! And when you are blocked, you don't know if you must do something or you don't have chances.

  • @fabry5005

It wasn't a mistake at all. This was a game that was made in a period of the game industry where home titles were in direct competition with arcade titles. Arcade game could keep a steady revenue based on replayability, but for home titles, once a game is purchased - that's it. To improve the total revenue from games, one of the solutions was to make games unreasonably obscure or difficult, which forced players to purchase a strategy guide. It was not a mistake, it was intentional.

  • how the crap would you ever know how to get to the oasis?!

  • every line is so familiar... like i was only playing it yesterday...it's creepy.

  • old memories, can we play it again? Its possible to dowload it i know but its possible to dowload it with voice and music??

  • loved these games but when i was little some of the scared the shit outta me

  • drat my sled is broken

  • LEAVE MY HARP ALONE..IT'S MINE

  • Oh wow! (=This took me back to when I was about 6 years old. Playing this game with my older cousin. I felt so cool and had so much fun playing this game with him! Now 21 I still have the best memories of this game. I loved the owl and weeping willow tree/princess.

  • WHOA! Flashback city! I can't believe I was SO on these games. I remember waiting for each new one to come out....

  • See? to me this is like the first Kings Quest now that it's released on the DOS!

  • Is it possible to figure out any of this on your first time?

  • a POIsonous snake!

  • For anyone wanting to buy these games, they've released a new Kings Quest collection series with 1-7. you can buy it through Steam for $19.99 (its in my wishlist waiting for a nice sale).

You might be able to find at a retail store though for cheaper.

  • talking bees and talking ants...

  • Hell this was too integrated for any child to figure out. I had a hard enough time knowing what to do one any one single screen- let alone I couldn't weave together the strategy of multiple screens to solve the game. :P Ahh, but weren;t games made good back then :D

  • i want to play this again.. anyone knows where to download?

  • @krisprincess i was looking for it aswell but staying on a legal path, i found that there is a package with Kings quest 4,5,6 for 9.99 on the internet. Its still not abandonware. Maybe if you look further/illegaly you find a *free* possibility

  • Oh Life giving water, nectar of the gods

This game was spetacular. There are no games today as good as those from the ninethies - Sierra and Lucasfilm. I miss that time!

  • Oh Life giving water, nectar of the gods

This game was spetacular. There are no games today as good as those from the ninethies - Sierra and Lucasfilm. I miss that time!

  • "OHHHH a poisonous snake"!!! "May I help you sir"? Hilarious!!

  • this game was awesome except for THAT DAMN DESERT!!!

  • I could never figure out how to install this game's sound effects correctly

  • The owl has a monocle and a vest, think that for a moment. On a sidenote: that voice...dear God his voice...make it go away!

  • 2:10 That is an unfair puzzle that was referenced in SQ6.

  • I remember buying this game on CD-ROM from Sears circa Christmas 1995. It was my second adventure game after Return to Zork.

Anyone remember the 'out of heap space' error that caused the game to crash?

  • WOW like the precursor to Elder Scrolls Oblivion.

  • Oh MAN, I always died in the desert! Did anyone else think that the tailor was stereotypically gay? And the voice of that owl really got on my nerves after a while. This game rocked, but it was also so annoying! So many memories. Thanks for posting!

  • @rocconisse HAHA you just brought back vivid memories of my own massive amount of desert deaths.

  • @rocconisse
