There's a crap-load of hacked times on the leaderboards. None of them have been fixed, leading me to believe that Nintendo doesn't get rid of them anymore.

And If I were to hack a game for fun, I wouldn't go into a tournament and hack, it ruins the fun of it.

Why? No one can hack your own experience of a tournament/competition. Okay, so they can hack the the top times, but would you have ever got close to the Top 10 anyway?

There are relatively few hackers in the game compared to the total amount of MKW racers. I race loads and have only ever encountered about 2 or 3.

I think they're coming back with a vengeance now that Nintendo banned them with that error code. It just gives a hacker something else to hack and they will.

And I would think it satisfying to be on the list, along with other players of relating skill. Seeing a time with 0:000.169 would ruin it, because you would KNOW that the person has no experiance at all.

I would also like to point out that yeah, I hack for fun. Mostly offline, and online with friends, but never to get little things like 3 stars and good times. It just proves how bad you are at the game.

I think they do it for a joke at first. Mario Kart is very frustrating at times, and I think the first hackers kind of felt like they were getting their own back on the game and reversing all that bad luck.

But then they get people making very negative and rude comments towards them, so that just makes them feel like carrying on. If no one gave them any attention and just quit the race as soon as they realise they're in the same room as a hacker, they'd get bored and stop.
