@tjadadada Be my guest using just front break in an emergency, you use both breaks in a controlled fashion. Don't anchor on the rear of course, use it in conjunction with front.

@OneShotKill3r In 2009 Yamaha put a Cross Plane Crank in the r1. Connecting rods are 90% apart and has a very unrythmic firing pattern. Makes it sound similar to a triple, but is supposed to smooth out throttle response and save on tire wear. Search it on youtube, neat idea borrowed from a track bike.

Hey rnickeymouse can you ask Adey what wind screen is that on his R1? I have the Hotbodies double bubble dark tint on mine but its not as high up as his. Also tell them if they are ever on the east coast they need to come and ride route 33 in WV and route 211 in VA.

Looking at the revs.. seems to me like a 600cc bike would make a lot more sense on that road. He never even touches the R1s power band (max torque revs and higher). Maybe even an SXV450/550.

You need to visit some of our California moto roads but the Snake pales in comparison to the hundreds of roads a couple hours to the north all the way to the top of the state. The Snake is fun to watch on YouTube but it's a comical zoo of riders, congestion, and Highway Patrol, not to mention, it's a short run.

Try Hwy 36 in NorCal. 140 miles of twisty from inland to the coast in a forest setting!
