Hands down one of the best keyboards EVER MADE! Got one propped up next to me that did me right hundreds of nights over a 10 year span all over Dallas!
@vaasnaad It now only works like 35% of the time. I think the disk drive needs cleaning. I never use it on stage. I absolutely LOVE the keybed though. The only thing that comes close to it is from the Korg Triton 73 series keyboards. I'm thinking about selling it for parts. I have a ton of disks. Several copies of the sounds I use too.
i like rock drums, ob# shit whack alternate push button effects, hotmoog multi keys, pad punch, percussion, ts10, rest are pretty average keyboard sounds i just mix in some samples.
yeah you get the stock sounds on the disks and load em up.
the o.s disk is neccesary to tune, setup, help memoray, sometimes it is required to undertake specific actions. everything else you can just sample and play around with. you can use a mic or just plug the guitar or other keyboard in audio in and sample shit, the effects on the eps 16 plus are extensive, its a synthesizer you make a dog fart sound like a wah synth. I love how you can just sequence shit, play, phase vol of specific instrument, breakdowns. its a sampler sequencer synth basically
Hey! I'm going to buy an ensoniq eps 16+ but i don't understand if the keyboard was sold with some floppy disks that contain samples or you have to create them? And..it has internal sounds? thanks
I got one of these for $80 at an estate sale, itcame with the OS disk, but no sample disks. I have made some instruments from sampling stuff out of modplug tracker and various vst's.
Another great thing about this synth is that it can take a beating. I use it during my performance, where I regularly rock it around, drag it to the ground and even stand on it, and it functions totally flawlessly.
What a great piece of gear. Best $80 I've ever spent.
Not sure if it was intentional, but the part you played at 2:24 - 2:29 sounds like the beginning of the Sewer Surfin' music from TMNT IV: Turtles in Time.

@LOOPWHOLEBEATS I can't. I get an "Error 166" when I try to boot it up. The machine is dead now. : (
